Well done guys. Nice install.

Rob, how does the car feel with the new cooler, is there a noticable difference?

Mick, when you coming down again for a drink?

Geea. :nfi:

Thanks Craig.

When I first drove the car after installing the intercooler, we went out for dinner, so I had a fully laden car. It felt a tad slower. Took the car for a spin later, it felt the same as when it had the factory I.c. I sussed out the boost guage on full throttle, it doesn't appear to have picked up any boost, as it still hit's 10/11 then stops. One thing I did notice though, and this maybe my imagination, but the acceleration appears to be alot smother, rather than the sudden jolt I used to get. But the same power is still definately there, maybe a smidgen more. I now want to get the car retuned, not so much for more power, but mainly just to make sure the Xede mapping is still ok and within it's parameters. BTW, another thing that has changed is even more people eyeball the front of my car now. :spit:

If I was to fit this cooler on my stock t ( apart from cai and k&n ) I believe it would raise my psi due to less restriction. Can anyone tell me how much it would increase and if the ecu could handle it?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I remember when Zoom Mag started to mod there T, they found the stock cooler roobed the turbo of 4.5psi. This is a terrible pressure drop - and shows that the turbo is working much harder than it should to be making the factory 5psi.

So they guys saying they had seen 9psi when replacing the factory cooler sounds about spot-on.

So how much does a PWR IC cost?

How much does a APS IC cost and are they available without buying all the other gear from APS?

Is the APS IC a similar job to fit where things need to be modified to make it fit?

Very informative thread Rob, you feeling OK?! :w00t2:

The aps cooler costs around $2800 or so (although pricing may have changed) but that includes installation and installation and supply of the wastegate actuator to allow more than 12psi of boost in the high rev range. It's a big job to install any large intercooler so a bit of it would be labour costs as parts have to be relocated as with Rob's installation.

Good work BTW Rob. You'll need to get your actuator modified so you can run higher boost now and hit 300rwkw+

Thanks for the report guys.

I am looking at picking up one of these next week myself. Just wondering what you have since done with the piping? If you have replaced it with silicon hose, where did you get it from? Bends and length required?

I would love to pick it all up and do it all together.
