You should always get a re tune after a bigger intercooler is fitted as if it is doing it's job there should be colder air and more of it available to the engine.

Now the air is denser and you can fit more air into the same space as before, you need more fuel to mix with it to create a bigger bang in the cylinder.

Too much cool air without enough fuel and proper timing adjustments will cause detination.

You can raise your boost levels by few PSI just by changing the IC and nothing else if it is less restrictive than the factory item.

If I was to fit this cooler on my stock t ( apart from cai and k&n ) I believe it would raise my psi due to less restriction. Can anyone tell me how much it would increase and if the ecu could handle it?

It is hard to use Saleen's car as a example because he is piggybacked.

I put a Typhoon front mount intercooler on my T (GT intake, APS exhaust) and it reliably went to 9psi which subsequently threw it into limp home mode. Everytime I went past half throttle it would go into error mode.

I know it isn't a relevant example, but it should give you a idea what you are in for.

Id say if you put this cooler on your T, boost would increase, hard to say by how much, but it will. And the factory ECU doesn't like seeing anything over 6.5psi.

Hope this helps. :spoton:

Greg,

I went over to F.I.S.T. specifically to see the intercooler installed in your ute. The cooler and the new piping looks fantastic! :nfi:

Well done.
