I've AP racing brakes on my car as well as lowering it for better handling. Car is a good package as is although yet to run it on a circuit to really find its limits. You can never have too much breaking ability but I think what I have now matches my power level. Im happy to use the power on the streets which is also why I have bigger brakes.

You can have all the brakes you want, as big as you want but they will not help you out one tiny bit at all if you got crap tyres. Your brakes will only work efficiently as long as your tyres have traction. Once you loose traction and ABS kicks in, you will be missing vital seconds in braking time.

I hope with all that power you are using tyres with a AA traction rating. Wheels like yours and Michelin Pilot Sport2, or the newer Michelin Pilot Premacy, or the Bridgstone S03's spring to mind.

If not, God help anyone around you when you need to brake..

I must say that I tend to play to the strengths of whatever car I've got at the time. Had an old XB wagon and that was never going to handle like a go kart.....(though I tried! :lol: )Had a LA lancer, and that was never going to go to the drags....

I agree with what's said about track days ect, I don't know much about suspension setup , but I've put together nissan ford and jag engines, to make more power, to me, is easier than getting a car to handle really well.

but as I said, I don't know sh1t about suspension.

A cetain "Judge" springs to mind... 6 piston callipers, and locked it up..

Nothing better than being able to brake later, corner quicker and pwr out mid corner and run down the straight with some nice GG's under the bonnet :finger:

Anybody that gets the chance do a track day should jump at it,It certainly shows how much fun a good handeling car is to drive :msm:

My first T was built for pwr with a slightly modded suspension my 2nd T I was lucky enough to buy it with bigger brakes and pro street/race whiteline susp and I absolutely have to say that this should be the first steps in modding any car,even though every car I've built the first thing I have done is put more pwr into them :shifty:

Just because you have a car that can handle on rails doesnt mean you drive to its limits on a public road. That would be like Geea trying to accelerate like he does when at the drag strip off every set of lights to run 11 seconds ¼ miles on a public road. Just isnt gonna happen. Like I said previously I like a complete package, nothing is more important then the other. You need a well balance car that will go, stop and turn :D

I have good tyres so I don't need to worry in that regard. I also don't need to worry about having to brake quickly 99% of the time as I don't drive hard on populated streets. Over 300rwkw is easy to use on the street because of the weight of the falcon. You just need to ensure you have adequate braking power and leave plenty of distance to brake if you give it some

PS Leave an self promotion at the door as well as any 'Performance Sticker and Bodykit' mentality as it is covered by numerous magazines to cater for the intellectually challenged.

Hi Plonky, great question. I guess its hard for me to leave my bodykit at the door because it's fitted to my car.

Both are important. But without lotsa squirt, great handling and braking is about as useful as an impotent 12 inch pen*s.

The design of the care must alignwith the intended function of the car, but for any road car, braking is the most important ability.

Nearly everyone can agree as to what braking is. For a for road car it is the distance required to stop from any given speed in all conditions.

However, in addition to sheer stopping power, there is pedal effort, feel, fade resistance and feedback to consider.

Squirt is the least important ability for a road car and it is a little more difficult to pin down as far as a common definition. Different people have different ideas as to what squirt is. There is ultimate power, the shape of torque curve and boost lag to consider.

The real importance of squirt is that the character and magnitude and availability of the squirt is aligned with the intended function of the car.

Handling is a different matter altogether.

Everyone but everyone has a different idea of what handling means.

For some people handling simply means rapid steering response and little body roll and high levels of grip.

For some people it is having the dynamic control systems sorting the attitude of the car out automatically.

For some people the opposite is true, they want the car to respond exactly to the controls. In general they are often after linearity, predictability, responsiveness and feedback.

Even in a subcategory of cars, such as sports cars there are different approaches, such as the all computer driven GTR and the no computer driven Atom, Rocket and F1.

I wouldnt mind knowing the traction and treadwear rating of your tyres. You can find it on your sidewalls somewhere.
