Well guys its been a week now since ive had my EDIT done, and I cant be happier with the performance. Very good power delivery and it makes good streetable power. Im now in that grey area of upgrading some factory components if I want to see anymore power gains from here. As u can see my in my sig. this is where I am atmo.

Im thinking off just doing Valve Springs as a safety barrier, and having a re-tune to smooth out the power and bring it to 260-265rwkw. Then I would be happy and stop there.

** My real concerns lie with the driveline. I have a T5 that seems to be getting louder and im going to be getting a new diff soon - when Ford gets back to me. Do you guys see any real Major problems occuring if I keep my power at 265rwkw and keep My Driving Style Sencible :gooff: **

I dont want the gearbox/diff to go boom one day and then be explaining to Ford what has happened!!! :gooff:

Feedback Please Guys - specially those with Mods/T5 combo.

I have an auto and with Edit on Wednesday, I'll be pulling similar power say 265rwkw (done exhaust also).

All the reading I have done is quite mixed. Lot's of cars running much more power than we are/will be without issue. Some had issues with less power.

Motor mag has a few old articles on phase I, II & III and quite clearly state no concern or issues in testing (all giving superior pwr @ the wheels), so what do you make of it all?

Either it's luck out of the factory, driving style or a combo.

 Farked if I know really :glad:

JB, Craig, Pashen, others..... your thoughts?

Yeah I too at 294rwkw for around a week and my auto is feeling it I think.1st to 2nd gear change flares alittle. The auto was always alittle noisy in 1st gear when stock and clumsy shifting in drive mode but that's nothing out of the ordinary with ford autos.I will be modding my auto as soon as I can get it in.Its worth it in the long run.As for diff noises,I haven't sufferd any yet. Cheers Darren.

Personally Allen, I think you are worrying too much about it. Yes the T5's are not really good after 300rwkw, but it all comes down to the driver.

Ben from Mal woods has said numerous times its the torque that kills the boxes, so don't try and pull out of gears around town, change down and keep your revs up.

Personally I ran mine at 260rwkw for some time, and down the qtr with no issues bar the clutch slipping which was then replaced. I have gone up to 294rwkw and still no issues.

So far at 305rwkw it seems to be holing up ok, it has gear chatter when you accelerate out of a gear but that has nothing to do with the power, and you really need to know what to listen for to hear it.

It still feels smooth and after running it down the qtr bar not wanting to go into 3rd every now and then its fine (common trait of the T5).

When I sheered the axel spline I think it showed where the weakness was in the car, you would have thought the gearbox first, but that has not been the case.

Mate sit back enjoy the car, but at the saem time treat the box with respect. Change the gearbox oil to Castrol Transmax Z and you really should be fine. The only guys that have done boxes have been over 300rwkw.

I really believe there will be other things you can address before the box like valve springs etc. If you plan to stay around the 260rwkw mark I really cannot see any issues.

Regarding the auto, I think if you have over 250rwkw's you need to do something to help the box. This could be as little as having a good trans cooler installed if you don't do a great deal of spirited driving. If you enjoy driving the car reasonably hard I'd suggest getting the auto seen too. I know that Kewish will strengthen the box for $1700. My first car had this done when it had 280rwkw's and was awesome.Kewish are in Melbourne and I'm not sure how helpful this will be for those interstate. I believe that Nizpro have an exchange program which could be helpful for those interstate. I believe its a bit more expensive though.
