He's already run 11.8 in his Territory in bog standard street trim, and his wife drives it daily in that state of tune.A 10 sec Territory would be easy once the Z6 autos are strengthened in time, and with a stronger transfer case. That one maybe in 12-18 months. One step at a time.it has me a little stumped how it was written off, but at least you have it back.I was stupid; I did not give it the utmost respect it deserved... and my first accident since 29 years ago.Brian

I presume that the car was not insured at is "real" value though.

They are designed to crumble for occupant safety. The chasis rail bends, the whole roof buckes, and the rest of the chasis is out of alignment. I'd never want it back after a repair of such anyway, even if it could have been repaired. What was painful was that 2 days earlier I paid 12 months rego and a full years insurance; that's a good case for pay by the month insurance. Next insurance I'll look into try to acquire 1st salvage rights.Brian

This is something that I will have to give a great deal of thought when I finally take the plunge on a new F6 and all the mods that I want. I am still a little unsure how the insurance will work, even with a "modification friendly" insurance company. They all still have a disclaimer that the modifications must be legal. So as I see it, you could go to the trouble of listing all your mods, arranging salvage rights, setting an agreed value for the car, then if something happens, they still refuse to pay because you didn't have police permits for your bigger turbo etc! Then again, even after you have sorted out the insurance issues, if you take the car somewhere that you can legally experience the performace and something happens, the insurance policy won't be worth the paper that its written on. I know that people will say "you play, you pay" but I still think that I would be pretty pi$$ed if the guy in the lane next to me at the drags decided to rub paint or worse!Geez, I think that I am even starting to depress myself. I know the answer....If I earn more money I just won't give a sh!t.Anyway, I hope it all works out well for you and that you turn this into a positive and create a new project that is even more exciting!!!! At 340rwkw, it was the fastest car I have ever been in. I can't begin to imagine what it was like at close to 600rwkw. Even though I no longer have my XR6T and have not been active in this forum, I still log on every few months to check on your progress with the this car. I have read all your technical posts and I have appreciated the detail and knowledge that you have shared in this process.I look forward to hear about your plans for the future.CheersSlapnut
