Thanks V8_Frd,

I had a chat with Spiko this afternoon (thanks Spiko), who referred me to a company in Sydney. 9" is possible, but adds significantly to costs.

I didn't have time to ask Simon about how it went... I'll talk to him tomorrow, as there are a number of other things I'm looking at doing with the car, as well as something new for manual drivers that Nizpro are working on at the moment (can't reveal yet). He did say he reckoned that you could get wheelspin in 4th at 200kph, but I don't know if he was serious or not! From what Robin said 2 days ago, when he saw the dyno graph, the power was still increasing at over 7000 revs.

Brian

I am very very scared............. :nono:

Health warning, Brain and Simon are no longer to spend time together..... :w00t2:

Diff should be OK, CV's will probably break  again.

I can always turn the boost down; 9lb yields a lowly 340rwkw.

Just re-read this thread; looks like I was right.

I am with Julian, the APS car at 307 was all over the runway at Avalon, at 400kph you would need a new aero kit to give you enough down force to keep it on the road!

It is coming along great Brian, congrats on the numbers you are finally getting after all of this time.

I read the APS car was unstable and got out of shape while braking, but wasnt to bad travelling at the high speed and believe it was using the stock suspension. Possibly the stability could have been better with firmer suspension etc.

Robbie.

Has there been any advances made on that 'Zeroshift' caper that was adapted for T5's and T56's about two years ago now?

The info is somewhere on these here forums!

I wish. If zeroshift does half of what they claim it will be fantastic, but I think it will 2-3 years before it's commercially available here, based on what I read a month ago on various forums.

Simon’s update.

New CV’s are installed.

Car currently makes 400 rwkw at 3800 revs, 500 rwkw at 5500 revs, & 581 rwkw at 7200 revs.

Simon has not taken it past 7200 revs, and at that point the power graph is still increasing at a 20 degree angle.

Tuning continues, with more emphasis sub 3500 revs for drivability.

There are 6 boost control settings, to turn the boost and power down.

Off boost at the moment he said it feels like a 4.4 litre. That is normally the case when you run a larger exhaust housing, and what I expect from past experience.

I’ve told Simon that we should stop at 600rwkw (800rwhp), which is around 1000HP at the flywheel. Time to be sensible, and refocus on other areas for a while.

He agrees.

Brian
