As a guide, for street use anything over 450rwkw is really way too much, and I'm trying to be as cautious as I can be. Car is currently set to around 480rwkw on 98 octane.

Brian

I love this quote, I really do.

450rwkw is WAY to much, that's why I'm 7% over that :spoton:

Awesome build Brian, no doubt you and Nizpro have made it much easier (and cheaper) for the guys that followed

I just really gotto know, How many times in this thread does brian have to explain that this beast is not designed for 1/4 miles. I think that some people cannot comprehend that someone may actually want to go fast for more than 400metres.

Guys,

I was lucky enough to go for a ride in the car and all I can say is that the current 480rwkw is plenty to play with.

The car does everything right ... the car idles, cruises in high gears at low rpm, goes around left hand corners in 3rd with no sign of stalling and when you want to stretch its legs it just keeps pulling and pulling all the way past 7000rpm.

Brian, even though you might be 10rwkw short of the 600 mark, I do not think anyone is going to be dissapointed!!

It might be time to go for a sprint around Eastern Creek!!

I just arrived back home to Sydney from Melbourrne.

Well the good news is that the upgraded cv's are installed, and pics will be posted as soon as I find some time.

Bad news is that the 6-speed gearbox is officially not in working order..

2nd gear sychro is not rash hot, 5th you can get into, but it pops straight out, and there is no 6th.

This was just after tuning just started today, with a few power runs to 250kph in 5th at 7100 revs. Torque was reading 1950NM. Simon & Dave were just about to put a lot more power into it!

I was planning to drive to Warwick next week to get the gearbox pulled apart for a refresh, as that had been planned a long time ago. It will be interesting to hear the prognosis when the gearbox is shipped to Mal.

I was probably lucky it didn't go whilst half way between Melbourne and Sydney, on the drive back home. I ended up catching a plane home.

Brian, I recall Mal woods saying that he will give a FREE 6 speed to anyone that has been able to break one :w00t2:

That was Mal's gearbox!

It originally came out of his ute.
