Any more thoughts Brian about using Territory running gear ie AWD?

Easier probably buying a Territory and putting the motor in that. A Territory would suit me better anyway. and I'm getting to the stage where I'd rather have the 6-speed auto.

We'll see how the car goes for traction next weekend.

Simon and Dave started tuning the car again last Monday (after Dave returned from hols), and I don't know the current status, and I'll ring Simon Monday.

I'll also check again the status of the upgraded CV's.

The guys are now working to a deadline of having the car ready for me to drive this weekend.

You should not have any issues with the Edit supporting 23+psi boost levels!!!

It was effectivly handling 26-27psi in my car on the race tune. I was also running an E-Boost controller though and this is what you should be looking in to.

Are you running a boost controller?

All the best anyway cant wait for that drive you promised me when you get your beast back.

Keep us posted

Regards

Spiro

Spiro,

I had a 6-way boost controller switch when the Motec was in the car, and a boost controller was a request by me.

I don't think Simon has rigged up any controller yet, and the priority is the independent cam timing and drivability tuning.

With that sized turbo it will need 26-28lb to make the 600rwkw, so I hope you are right. We will catch up again when I get the car again, and you can do another test drive.

thanks,

Brian

You will not drive this car.........

you will 'pilot' it.

Would be interesting to see how goldbullet/HPF went about the avc-r boost controller, might be worth looking into??

Since when do you worry about doing things the easy way?! :spoton:

An earlier post asked about the traction and strength of the car.

I would suggest you geta full cage installed as per the v8 supercars.  This would strengthen the car, give better traction, handling, and possibly save the car and yourself from total destruction if everything got sticky.

For the amount of money you have spent - it is a small investment in safety.

HERE, HERE..... I MUST AGREE.....

Having had a truck move across the road & sent me sliding 90deg to the road, at "highway" speed, which consequently rolled and flipped end-over, I was lucky, to say the very least....

The floorpan remained relatively straight, but the driver's window fram was ripped down in the rollover, a good argument for Side Airbags, the passenger front wheel was ripped off and exploded along the centre of its' circumference....

The roof buckled in, so the roof resembled the golden arches.... it was just slightly McF*#ked.... and the insurance co. asked if it would be salvageable?!?

My suggestion would be some underbody braces similar to the Mustangs have available to tie the front & rear rails together..... that would give the chassis some strength, and while the chassis has awesome balance, the chassis would be the last of my cares in a roll, flip or whatever.....

I'm with Cobra on the cage bit, and I'd make sure it was WELL designed.... call it OVERKILL? maybe, but then that's whatmy missus says about the power and the money...... I'd call it cheap? insurance......

Since extractors have been discussed this week, here is a picture of the extractors fitted on my car.

They are normally covered with a heat shield.

They are very large diameter, and support high power. Many people have probably seen the video of them glowing red in the Nizpro dyno video when fitted to the other Nizpro engine.

The Tial external wastegate is also shown in the second picture, and this feeds into the 4" dump pipe.

Very nice setup Brian.

I was suprised not to see a high mount setup like Spiko has. Maybe with his turbo there was no room to fit down in the standard location??

Looks Very nice. :msm:
