NighEve Member 193 Member For: 20y 8m 10d Posted 21/03/05 09:58 AM Share Posted 21/03/05 09:58 AM Met someone today through work with a 1994 Australian delivered Toyota Celica GT4. We spoke a bit about cars, but unfortunately she didn't know too much about mechanics or the performance of the car other than "it's fast". I may get a chance to take it for a drive in the next couple of days, or at least have a little play out in the open road against my ute. I was wondering what I could expect out of this thing? It's difficult to find anything on the net about performance stats. :o I know it has a non-standard exhaust (rather loud sounding). Still has the top mount cooler, but when I asked about boost level she said she thought it might be "20" (she was genuinely unsure). What boost and power do they make standard? Some info says 275hp some says less - surely they don't run much more than 12-14psi stocko?I joked today and said we should have a race - funny thing is though that her father owns and club races a ferriari - maybe he's tinkered with it and it does run 20 pounds?????? The 10psi map may not be enough Toyota fans - I need info!!!!Joel. NighEve Member 193 Member For: 20y 8m 10d Posted 21/03/05 10:16 AM Author Share Posted 21/03/05 10:16 AM Has a massive rear wing (Australian owned since new, two owners). Could be just a rip off verison, but even the mags on it look kind of full on for factory rims (as I am told they are). Group A - that sounds scary. That exhaust was mighty loud (but then again so is my wife's SSS pulsar buzz box ). Still interested in performance figures - thanks for the advice so farJoel Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/16495-who-has-driven-a-toyota-celica-gt4/#findComment-233920 Share on other sites

ZAP No boost, no bottle, just my foot on the throttle! Lifetime Members 7,935 Member For: 21y 2m 12d Gender: Male Location: Sydney Posted 21/03/05 10:10 PM Share Posted 21/03/05 10:10 PM I have driven the older modela nd the newer GrpA and both were boring and slow. They look faster than they are.I would not worry about being beaten, you could put the stock map in and still hose them. They are underpowered and understeer like a pig. Ford_Power Member 798 Member For: 22y 26d Posted 22/03/05 01:51 AM Share Posted 22/03/05 01:51 AM My best friend has a 1994 GT4. We recently went on a trip down south. My stock T hosed him from the lights, and left him for dead with overtaking manoeuvres. His has minor boost tweaks, but nothing major. His has a low profile rear spoiler, and the big scoop in the centre of the bonnet.Ross Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/16495-who-has-driven-a-toyota-celica-gt4/#findComment-234194 Share on other sites
