So it would be better to go EDIT with no other mods except a trans oil cooler to keep auto happy and keep it under 10 psi boost to keep with in the limits of the injectors and springs. This will hopefully give us around 300 Flywheel KW, and save a heap of money, until I can afford all the other mods :(

Thanks guys, some really useful stuff posted and much appreciated. :spoton:

Sounds like I'll be pulling my head in after the Edit, :w00t2:  when I spoke with Rob at the HPF he said with full exhaust, second air intake, B&C filter anb EDIT that I would be pulling 250-275rwkw ish. So any more than anywhere in that scale would mean more $$$$ on the box. :pooh:

Any interesting side topic may be;

Is the bang for your buck there afer these mods :pooh: . Sure springs aren't too expensive, in fact most other mods after this stage aren't expensive in isolation, but collectively it leaves me a bit  in terms of total spend Vs the Return (rwkw).

Any other thoughts on this?

I am keen to hear from the 330rwkw plus players. Are the cars running these numbers really just soooo much better than say a 265rwkw car or not? Thanks!

I Agree, I think the bang for bucks stops around the 250RWKW as after that things seem to break and more money needs to be out laid for Springs, injectors, Hi-Flow Exhaust, Auto mods and anything I might have left out, for around $1600 you can get another 50RWKW over standard, the Next 50 RWKW seems to cost a whole lot more :(

:spoton: good points JB and thanks mate.

I think (even at this stage) that I will stay with whatever power I have after the Edit (I am waiting for the chorus from you all of "bullsh*t", give it a few weeks and then..) but seriously, like you pointed out, stepping out here and there and driving in the wet can be fun, but...

at the end of the day I also want a bulletproof daily driver that smokes most things coming my way, 265rwkw should look after that I think. :w00t2:  :pooh:

Cheers and thanks dude

Happy to take you for a spin Steve :pooh:

Just ask one of the LS1 boys from calder the other night who was travelling behind me what happens when the air is freezing cold JB has 305rwkw on the hwy leaving the track and plants it in 3rd?

Steve sometimes we get caught up in all the power stakes, what becomes enough? I always run on the saying "nomatter how much power you have, someones got more".

My personal opinion is drive around in some of the guys cars with different power, you will find an amount that you are comfortable with, and like you said you need a daily driver.

I am content with 300rwkw which is MORE than enough, to the point now where I have to think before putting the power down, unless I drive like a pensioner (eg Ken)

Sometimes we just have to let common sense prevail. :pooh:

Mate 265rwkw is a fair bit, you sometimes need to take a step back and have to put things into perspective.

From my perspective 300rwkw on the streets (400+HP) is a bloody lot of grunt.

The guys like Geea, race regularly and yes run over 330, however you will find some of the cars are not always on the road and some run De-tuned maps when on the street.

Personally I would see how you go with 265rkw, as once you have a couple of unexpected experiences you will come to appreciate the power you have.

Trust me 300rwkw in the wet is like walking through a minefield with bare feet, you tippytoe everywhere. Not forgetting to factor in who else will be driving your car, wife etc?.................. :o

Yeap, with my edit, the highest dyno run was 265Rwkw, with last run being 262rwkw. Even with this power, be very careful in the wet ! Any minor acceleration will spin the wheels and make the car slide sideways even with TC left ON !

What people are forgetting is that increasing power even to this level is that you've got an extra approx 80rwkw ( please note - @ the wheels ) :o

It's nothing to be scoffed at.

I am now at the point where I feel I have to do a bit of preventitive work on my car before any more HP is chased, it has 293 rwkw on a stock Auto, no cooler, nothing, so I dont think it will last too much longer, but we will see, I dont drive it too hard on the street.

Next will be valve springs, then brakes, then an IC.

If I can get around 310rwkw with a drive train to match I will be happy, but remeber, I do alot of Highway work and very little in town flogging, so I hope my Box will last a little longer, no signs of trouble so far.
