I had a tuscle with a Blood orange Phase II APS ute last night. He was in front of me at the lights, and he took off, so I followed. And to my suprise I hung with him! Ah I thought, he's just playing, I let him go and decide to get on with my evening, when all of a sudden the next set of lights turn red... one lane each.

I immediatly wind the window down and he gives me a thumbs up, and compliments my ute! I give him one and then ask... "So is it phase 1 or 2?" And he replies with a phase 2.

"Off you go then" I yelled, bugger racing that, 330kw vs 240kw.

When the lights go green we both nail it, because of the extra torque he couldn't floor it! So I nailed him in first, and grabbed second. I can hear him trying to find traction and pass my. Eventually he does and I am deep in to second when he crawls by. Yep that's right, not fly-by, but slowly passed me. We both jump into third and continue to drive, his BOV was fluttering 5 times louder than mine and the exhaust was magic!

But to my dissappointment he only manages to slowly put a car length on my T! We slow down and he yells "what have you got?" and when I yell "its stock!" The look on his face was priceless!! Almost getting owned by a stnadard T!

He was suitably impressed and wished his T went that hard when it was stock.

Me? I am glad I am not $4500 poorer. I think an edit would have done better!

Either way, I was happy as a pig in sh*t! And thumbs up to the other driver for being such a good sport! :spoton:

I think phase 2 is overpriced now. You can achieve similiar performance for half the cost.

Sounds like your T goes pretty well.

What sort of speed did u get up to?

I recently had a run against a standard T, mine is a phase 1

I was able to pull about 4 to 5 car lengths on him after backing off at around 150 - 160 k's.

I guess traction let the phase 2 ute down??

Despite your experience with the phase II I believe the phase II is much faster than stock. On average a phase II will cover the 1/4 mile at about 12.6 @ 110 mph give or take where a stockie will pull high 13's on a good run so no doubt there is a big differnce there.

I ran the phase II setup for a good 6 months and no standard T came close to me on the street or the track.

I am sure the other guy was upset though!

rednut... I would like to have a run against you so that I can see if the edit is worth it... I have the 10psi map loaded in and when ever I see a XR6T ute, they either turn of or just arent into it.... would like to see how it runs against stocko ute, especially one as fast as yours
