Hey guys,

I have noticed a bit of a squeek from the back when revesing down a kerb, etc (I thought one of the back springs might have been out of place). I had a look under the car and the lower suspension arm is/are sitting up against the big rubber bump stops.

Would this cause the noise? I did read that some people said something about cutting the bump stops.

I might give it some silicon lube to see if that helps!?

Yes you need to trim them back to about half way other wise there riding on the bump stop most of the time and not letting the shocky's do there job which will also give you a rougher ride,They simply just pull off

I cut mine too although the bumpstops in the BA do more than just act as a normal bump stop. They are much softer than your regular ones so they work with the suspension.

I am going to cut mine too. I had a look at a BA at a yard today with SSL kings in the back and the bump stops were cut in half. Just the big top section was left, the lower two had been cut off.

I will take a pic of mine, the lower suspension arms are sitting up against the rubber stops. I had this done at a suspension shop and I am suprised they never cut them! :ermm:

I have not touched my bump stops? :o

Do I need to?

The car seems to ride great with the SSL’s in the rear and SL’s in the front.

What would cutting the bump stops down do? :o

JB there is no need to cut down the bump-stops, as they are designed to become part of progressive springing in these cars. :spoton:
