Anyone using the Foxtel on demand option yet?

Is it a limited list of re-run crap or is there stuff worth getting it for?

Dags, all it seems to be is a few shows that are pre recorded to the IQ box. You can then watch them at anytime.

It is free and I have used a couple of times.

Cant justify the extra honestly, I'm more then happy with the standard foxtel (with all the channels of course)

you can also request it to record via the foxtel homepage on the net.

so if u r at work u can get it to record that jerry springer episode with the midget trannys that u miss

I haven't got it myself... I don't have time to watch foxtel as work and this forum have consumed my life :spoton:

I've got IQ and would never have Foxtel without it !!

in fact I was ready to bin foxtel as a pile of repeating sh*te, but IQ was a free install so gave it a go - Fox will now be staying in our house !!!!!!

so, soooo much better !!! ive got about 5 shows set to record all episodes all the time so there is always something to watch no matter what.

Is that a free install and no ongoing monthly 10-15 dollar fee?

Or how much do you pay a month?

Currently I'm on the top plan paying 89 a month.....

According to there site:

  Quote
Existing FOXTEL subscriber upgrading to FOXTEL iQ

All existing FOXTEL subscribers upgrading to FOXTEL iQ pay either:

OPTION 1: $125 standard metro installation fee + $10 or $14.95 monthly iQ service fee depending on your package; or

OPTION 2: $520.00 standard metro install and iQ service fee. Additional $4.95 per month iQ service fee is payable for subscribers on less than best package with a single outlet.

Dags,

I think Foxtel charge $10 per month more for the IQ.

I have been using the IQ for over 3 years and would not have cable without it.

I currently have about 10 things that are recorded every week automaticly. You can record FTA shows like v8 supercars and rugby.

It is HEAPS better than any PVR as you can record 2 fox shows while watching a recorded program. it is great to fast forward at 30x to get through the ads in 4 seconds.

If you have Foxtel, YOU WILL LOVE IQ.

But they said if I was a new customer they could do it for free.....even though they dont have any boxes available atm.... :hohum:

Off topic but relevant:

What do you guys use to distribute Foxtel to multiple outlets?

I have wired 3 points for Foxtel but dont want to spend another $20/month per box. ( I already spend $100/month :spoton: )

I know there are some systems that use the TV aerial cabling and say channel 46 but I have hard-wired connection from the main Foxtel entry point to other rooms in the house.
