Picked her up yesterday, all good.

The screen was replaced on Tuesday due to a dead pixel so we ended up with a Feb 05 production 505PG in place of the older 505HDG. lt looks identical so its obviously internal changes only. Thing had about 10 hrs on it when we picked it up, what a good deal.

Transporting and setting it up was all a lot easier than l expected, and the PQ is to die for. l am even impressed with the sound

Ebay can be a good place sometimes!!

Zeke, the show was poor IMO. Very similar to last year but with a bit less of the good stuff, bloody plasma's everywhere  Dont know if l would bother.

Cheers Simon

That's great, Simon.

Yep, the on-board sound isn't hifi, but it's quite respectable and very listenable....not tinny like many TV's.

I just got back from the show in Melbourne and you're right....it's gone downhill somewhat. It probably wasn't worth travelling from Adelaide and I won't bother next year. But, did you have a good listen to the system with the Verity Audio speakers, Halcro amps and $100,000 turntable? I wanted to hate it, but it was magnificent. So it should at $300,000+!!

Anyway I'm glad you got the Pioneer and that you're happy with it.

Regards

zeke

No l didnt, they were still setting it up when we were there. l did notice Halcro amps all over the place, they either have too much stock or are making a hard push into their local market. Equinox and Osborn put on good setups, l was pretty impressed with Osborns speakers but the music they were playing was carefully choosen to make them sound at their best and not reveal their unrefined top end. It was like a few localy made gems buried amongst a sea of overpriced imported gear.

l did chat with a guy who makes HTPC's, is this something you have looked into? At this stage you still cant buy one that umsamples DVD's, it was a bit worrying when l aked the sales guy about it and he didnt know what l was on about. l am a HT novice but l do understand that :spoton:

Cheers
