From what I understand SAP jobs are hard to break into as a newbie because they want people with experience in their business for those roles.

Yeh I'm going to the mines in April with a mate. Another mate atm is at cape Preston iron mine. Just off the coast. Spoke to him for a good couple of hrs last night on the net about new concerns n a few things others have told me. Sounds like a good mine to go to, better than first thought lol, so it looks like that's where I'll be heading. Work for a year or so n save for Europe n a deposit on an investment property down here. I have not planned how many yrs I'll be away overseas but was going to go back to mines after I got back. But maybe this sap stuff or even something similar could be on the cards..atm carpentry has taken its toll on my back. Framing for 4yrs is balls..but Ill get my ticket so I'll have that at least if all else fails..

There's a fair difference between the charge-out rate for professional services and the actual wage that the employee gets, I.e. divide it by 3 as a rule.

As far as professions go government jobs are always well paid and if you make a stuff up your christmas bonus is based on how big. The bigger the stuff up the bigger the bonus. That's how it works here, anyhow :)

I started a cadetship with the government.. Also went insane.. Hold a meeting to pick a suitable meeting date for future meetings.. Now we just contract back to them and we actually get stuff done... And on time.. I really feel sorry for any IT professional working for the gov though.. I swear people would deliberately f*ck their computers to get out of work..

Where I am it's more like 1/4 of our typical rate.. but overtime is paid at 1/2 and when you're doing 30 or so extra hours a fortnight that adds up..
