Guest cdfa Guests Posted 14/03/05 10:06 AM Share Posted 14/03/05 10:06 AM Hi all,I'm the proud new owner (3 days) of a Mercury Silver XR6T with Premium Interior, Premium brakes and a U-beaut 6 speed transmission. Love the car and that fantastic motor etc etc .Hope this is the right forum but I have a query on how to improve road noise. I've already had an underbody sound-deadener applied however the crap roads of Central Queensland are proving to be winning the battle. Premium sound helps however the kids can only put up with my Led Zepplin collection for a limited amount of time.Has anybody got any suggestions on how to eliminate some of the road noise. I love the performance characteristics of the XR6T, so please don't suggest 165 15 tyres with fairmont spring ratings (My wife's already tried this). I was hoping that there are a few gaps in the floorplan etc that may be letting in the noise that could be easily sound proofed (ie quick fix to improve deadening). Alternatively is there a likely manufacture issue, ie some of the deadening has failed to be installed. Any help would be appreciatedIf all else fails, ear plugs will have to do .Cheers,Cam

You can get extra sound deadening done but you can always give it a while you will get used to it,try turning up the stereo LOL. Oh and welcome a few looneys here but overall a nice place to visit.
