John Crennan from HSV has been on the public record saying HSV will not marked any turboed Commodore. Let's see how long it will take for this crettin to make a hypocrite of himself and sell them under the HSV badge, if in fact the rumour is true.

At the end of it all it's still a POS Commodore :spoton:

Well, after all that I think its crap.

There's no way in the short term Expensive Daewoo will be releasing a TT V6. The V6 already costs a bomb, so does the 5sp auto. I can't imagine them adding more technology to this engine when their V8s are faster, cheaper and have more "value" in the eyes of the australian public.

I'd believe maybe the 3.8 TT for the SAABs or Alfa's (which was confirmed in Motor or wheels sometime back).

Your dad or whoever probably got the wires crossed (like most rumors are). Expensive Daewoo will make a TT V6 at the engine plant yes, but sticking it into a commodore, no.

What a load of :spoton: .

Didn't Ford copy Expensive Daewoo when Expensive Daewoo invented the "Aussie Ute"?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Just to clarify this, Expensive Daewoo copied FORD when it comes to the Aussie ute.

.

The first Ute was designed in Geelong by Ford engineer Lou Brand.

It was released in 1934 (Model 40).

.

Expensive Daewoo promptly copied the design..

Hell the only reason I bought a ford (this is my first) is they actually did something right this time, and it actually looks nice

Same here, I dont think anyone is going to keep their T for ever, so the rivalry between ford and Expensive Daewoo is a great thing, so when we see the need to upgrade to a different car, we will have a choice of some good cars to replace our beloved.

Well you just have to think logically about it and you can see what the answer would be.

First up, developement.

GM aren't going to directly develope the TT unless they plan to use it on a GM car (which I haven't heard yet).

I wouldn't think saab are going to freely share with Expensive Daewoo either, and they are developing a single turbo V6 (from memory). So this doesn't really suit the commode.

So strait up, Expensive Daewoo have to develope most of this project themselves. More cost.

Ok, after that, its about market share and position.

Currently their V8's are dominating the market and are already as fast as our T's off the showroom floor. So there is the "why bother" reason there as well.

Then there is productoin costs.

2 turbo's instead of our 1. Regardless of which turbo they use (read: cheap), this is an unavoidable double cost.

Double the pipework throughout the engine etc, and all the crap that goes with it. Allot more involved that a single turbo setup. So productoin costs would simply suck ass.

With my reasoning, why would they bother. The LS2 would not only cost them so much less money that it isn't funny, but it will produce more power and torque off the bat and has room for around 400kw in street trim....

In my mind, there just isn't a point. They are making too much money in the V8 to bother....

I could be wrong, but hey, that's what discussion is all about :)

PS, Old school pantera goes hard..... Just dragged out Vulgar and am enjoying it thoroughly.... :D

yeap your right about the ute ....

and I agree with you MattyC ... when they have been told it must be a pushrod V8 all the freakin time and the fact that anything that has technology in it with a Expensive Daewoo badge has been ripped from Opel, Vaxhaul, Isuzu ... etc etc ...

Star dust my man ... I dont know where you are coming from, sorry, I seem to be one of thoses guys that if I have forked out serious money on a car, have done the reaserch and fall desperatly in love with it, I will drive it till it falls to pieces or circumstances change, I am chasing a XR6T because I can see myself in it and running it till it says no MORE! and from the last time I drove one 2 YEARS AGO STILL HAVE A SMILE ON MY FACE!

I still have my 1991 Capri Turbo, wouldnt sell it because it still brings a smile to my face when I drive it every time so I left it at my dads cause of certain ... mmm ... err.... Police .... STOOGES.... pull over the Red Capri Convertible with the P plate after following him for 5 kms to tell him he didnt indicate the full 3 seconds when he changed lanes sometime 2 kms back... :spoton: :spoton:

I guess money can be something to concider in all this... if you have the cash to change car every so often .... :spoton:

Hey Eatv8 take a chill pill dude...remember this is a FORD site so you should expect members to be passionate about their FORD cars. I am passionate about the blue oval just like many others on this forum, however, I do have respect for other car brands, but that doesn't mean I have to like them !!!!!!
