This is what I can tell from the microcat parts interpretation system anyway...and the conversion wont be cheap either! brembo and cheap dont go together!!! but I hope u get what u pay for.I will be doing this conversion on my t when the ba gt gets catalogued on microcat, and the parts are readily available. Just because you dont see Ford doing, doesn't mean we are sitting on our hands. I wont say much, but we are running cars 20hrs aday testing possible fixes for this brake shudder problem. As some may remember I told them of some of the possible causes of the brake shudder and the one that seems to be the Ba's problem is cruising on the highway. To copy this and the prove any fixes takes kms which takes time. we are looking into this problems as it appears to be the biggest warranty problem on the BA. At least its not oil consumption (LS1)With the brembo brake upgrade there is more to jsut fitting the discs. the calipers would need to be moved further out from the wheel centre to mount into the correct place and then the caliper may not be wide enough to fit over the disc with new pads in place, so its easier to fit the 4 piston caliper as well. Then you should also change the master cylinder for the different brake caliper fluid capacities as then brake front to rear proportioning would be up the creek if you dont. and the last thing would be the wheel offset which is different front to rear for the bigger rear calipers. Gets vert expensive very quick. it might just be easier to wait for the fix from ford that we are working on as we speak! alot cheaper to. unless you play on race tracks the brembos are over kill for the street big time! Uwish Member 65 Member For: 22y 2m 29d Location: Greystanes Posted 13/04/03 11:18 AM Share Posted 13/04/03 11:18 AM You will find that the Gt and the Gt-P will be using the same Booster and master cylinder as the xr6T.You will NOT need to change these. If you want the Brembo pack, just go to your nearest Ford Spared Parts and ask them to order you the Brembo pack. Then go and put them on.Simple isn't it!I know because I have already enquired about this when I order my 6T. I am not sure yet of u have to change the suspension arm.At this stage the list is: 4 callipers, 4 rotors, wheel bearings, 4 brake lines. I hope the pads come with the calipers! I wont know what else until we take delivery of a gt with brembo's or a gtp.I have fitted 19's to my chariot so clearance isn't a problem.there is no such thing as overkill in brake department if u ask me! and they look super! Guest dbasteve Guests Posted 15/04/03 07:57 PM Share Posted 15/04/03 07:57 PM Nothing is impossible! 17" wheelThis is a 13" rotor with a smaller 4 piston Brembo caliper than a GT Brembo setup. The caliper is repositioned to clear the stub axle support. Testing so far puts this inbetween the Premium and GT Brembo kits. This is a project for a customer I did a few weeks ago.
