Tuner,

I am glad we have the ECU update situation clear

Now I want to know, does the Edit box come with a factory version, or will it take my current car's ECU version ?

Please do not take offence to my posts, I want clear answers as there has been so much rumor and conjecture about your product, I do not know what is right and what is not.

Zap,

When purchased, the flashbox arrives with the 3 tunes in slots 1,2 and 3. The F slot is empty. The first time you flash your car takes almost twice as long as any subsequent flash. This is due to the upload of your own factory settings (and VIN) into the flashbox.

Hope this makes sense. :spoton:

ok as we know ST give half answers

1)if you take you car to be service and you have put the F tune in and they update the software ,when you try to uplaod ,say 10psi there is a 50/50 chance that the factory tune will have an error on upload because of thfe updated software that ford done

(error code 22) which will be the code on the flashing leds

because of the difference in the to F tunes which will lead you to having to send the box back to capa for a reset

trhank ST for you help in explaining this NOT

this is how it is the box will do 4 cars before it has to be reset and as for taking it to ford and they reflash you pcm you wont have to get the sct reset because it works of vin no.

hope this helps :w00t2:

I don't see why you would allow Ford to reflash your car.

Your own fault. You do realise you can demand them to never change the tune? EVER? If you get your car serviced by Ford then you deserve the hasle. Get your car serviced somewhere that you can decide which oil, which filter etc etc. And you still pay less even when you put premium gear on..... IT DOES NOT VOID WARRANTEE. It is unethical and I think its also illegal for them to void your warrantee without any merit....

So, the solution: Get someone who isn't an apprentice to service your car.

How can it void warranty if you are happy with the way the car is running.

I don't see how they can reflash your car unless you report a problem and ask for it to be fixed.

probably wrong but to say it voids your warranty is wrong in my view.

I have had my car for twelve months and only had 1 reflash at the 3000km service.

I have had 2 gearboxes replaced under warranty since then running the original flash
