This modification to the basic XR6T operating system is still being tested. Dare I say it, but near enough '2 weeks' should be sufficient time.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Will this modification allow the boost to be brought in hard from 3000rpm? Say a commanded 15psi from 3000rpm without surging?

Currently I'm running 12psi without any drama's other than power loss after a few runs because the stock intercooler cannot keep up.

Thanks,

Jason.

G'day Jason your sig say's 10 psi at 265 rwklw now your running 12 psi what is the rwklw

Not sure yet Jeff. All I did was add more boost and verify with my Innovate LM-1 wide band to ensure the AFR's were where I wanted them. It does feel stronger, but can't sustain the boost as long as the lower boost programs due to heat soak in the I/C.

Probably put the car back on the dyno after the new intercooler is installed.

PWR haven't got a very good name as far as intercoolers for XR6Ts go, have they got a new and improved version out now?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Have a look at the Intercooler Group Purchase thread. There's a good picture of the new PWR unit.

Just a simple question that I haven't been able to find an answer for yet.

We all pretty well know what the differences are between each of the 3 edit programs for the T's, ie they mainly involve incremental increases in boost pressure. But can anyone please explain what each program is all about for the V8 XR's and GT's. A brief explanation of each program would be excellent.

Cheers..J.

Can any one of theEdit tuners tell me and the forum members

what are all the parameters the PCM uses to work out it's torque tags.

eg. rpm, timing advance, vacum or boost level.

Then how does the Edit removes these tags?

Then with all these torque reductions. What is the life expectency of the transmittions?

Macka, I am hesitant to go into the detail workings of the PCM with you when you have made it clear you are developing your own competitive software product. What I can tell you is that switching functions in the PCM on or off is as simple as setting status bits in a register or 'word'.

We have several Ts around the country reliably running 12 second quarter miles on totally stock transmissions anywhere between 112 - 115mph terminal speed. As you may now understand after having gone to the strip and having failed to achieve your initial goals that regardless of rwkw readings that getting a neat stock T to run a 12 second pass takes a lot of tuning nouse and correct programming of both the engine and the auto trans.

Unleaded is available in 91, 95 and 98 octane. Does edit have to be tuned to a specific octane? Could edit be tuned to 91?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Speaking to Rob at HPF yesterday, he said they dyno tune primarily for 98 Octane (or whatever you want as your PRIMARY fuel, and whats in the tank when they get your car :)

They can then back out some of the timing and boost for a 95 or 91 octane map as you choose. This is more an educated guess I would think, than 'live' tuneing, as you can only have 1 fuel in the tank :)

The SCT Unit holds 3 custom maps PLUS the factory ECM download for a total of 4.

Normally 2 proper tunes., 1 valet ie: 3000rpm or so rev limit, and the uploaded original ECU proggy.
