Ok mods on my car,xr8 front cai,Expensive Daewoo xu6 injectors.it made 249 with the xede tuned by lok from chiptorque then bruce for some minor adjustments.car was good, but power would always change down by 15kw sometimes depending what mood the car was in(night was always good),sometimes it would boost to 14psi,

sometimes it would overboost at 10psi.

We put on bruces gtech with the xede and after 5 400m runs the best was13.4

With the edit the car made 269 with smoother power but felt slower because I lost some wheelspin, but with the gtech it picked up .2.

At A.I.R it ran all night about 7 runs and it was not cold around 17-18c

best time was 12.9 worst was 13.2 all around 110mph.

I then took it to another dyno KPH to see if the power had changed and it made 263 .

no more stalling

firmer auto change

smooth power from 3000 up to 6000

rpm cutout at 6500

easy to set up after the first custom map

starts easy

idles in the morning now

dte and fuel computer now reads 100%

I will change exhaust, springs and intercooler and this thing will make 300 easy

I don't need to prove anything.  As a perspective customer it is up to you to prove your products superiority.

Macka I do software support, not sell the product. If you want to organise this kind of challenge, then put the word out to the dealers here.

A simple Dyno Graph from a car with mods as close as possible to mine will do fine. ie CAI, larger injectors, larger intercooler, standard valve springs, standard cat running 10psi making 325+ rwkw and you've got a sale.

that's impossible with the stock compressor.

It doesn't generate enough airflow at 10psi to support 325rwkw.

However it depends whose dyno you believe....

which is why I said, show us some mph (from the big black dyno) and forget about pie in the sky dyno readings. 325rwkw on my dyno is near enough 120mph on the track. You cant do that at 10psi...however others here have reckoned 320 - 330rwkw is closer to 110mph. that's why I ask you slightly rejig that question Macka. How much mph you want for 10psi?

Looks like we maybe doing some business soon if all goes to plan. :spoton:

Do you do all the training for the CAPA Edit? If you do when was the last time you were in Cental Victoria? :spoton:

But if a Dealer would like to take up my challenge and show everyone what a custom tune at 10 psi can do by all means feel free to do so. Running minor mods like

2nd CAI

larger injectors

Larger IC

No exhaust mods or aftermarket valve springs

I'll will hopefully be in a position shortly to post my own figures running the Edit :spoton:

I'd like to see macka's car run down the quarter just too.... Well, just to see it run down the quarter........

Don't really care what time he gets, just wanna see that shaker fly past.

But yeah, the figures would also help prove how much more kickarse his car would be with an edit...

If you go to the dealer and get a ECU update, will the flasher upload the latest stock tune into the flasher ?

Thanks

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

that's just dumb. Go back and tell Peter you heard the question wrong :spit:

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Tuna,

I do not know why you made this comment, but I will just ignore it asI do not have any association with APS nor do I have any of their products anymore.

The reason for my question is: If I go to Ford with the stock ECU version software say version 4.1.1 that is in the stock slot on my CAPA Edit box and Ford upgrade me to 4.1.3, will I be able to load 4.1.3 onto the Edit Box before I load one of the performance map ?

If I can, great, If I cannot Ford will know I am playing with the Edit as the next time I go there I will not have 4.1.3, but 4.1.1 and their records will show up the inconsistancy.

Also, are you gonna answer my other questions ?

I will be buying an Edit very soon, but I will wait and see what APS bring out before I make my decision.

Thanks

as far as I know ,capa told me if you load you stock tune in and it gets reflasheed it will up;oad in the box as it downloads 10psi tune from the box

if you can understand this

starting to confuse myself

Sorry xrturb,

My understanding is different. As far as I'm aware, the flashbox will only upload what's in the car when the "F" slot is empty. Therefore, it does not look for updates.

I think the only way around this is to have the F slot cleared (by CAPA??) and you can only do this 5 times before the flashbox takes a trip overseas.

CAPA, Martin, please correct me if I have misunderstood.

from my understanding from capa

is when the factory tune is in you vechile that leaves the f slot empty on the capa box aznd when you uploas (just say the 10psi)tune

if you have a flash from ford ..it will in turn replace that tune into the empty slot in which the flashed ford tune is then replaced into the box

sorry sixrt :spoton:

ps I am only saying what capa has told me as I am taking my car in for problems with limp mode problems on all tunes including factory (critics note ...has nothing to do with the magic box)

so you are saying that when I put my factory tune back ion and go to ford and they reflash ..I then put the 10 psi tune back in

and you are saying that the flashed update does not stay in the box

which means that if you put the factory tune back in to return to ford they will see the non updated tune

like I said I rang capa for that reason and they told me that it would replace the factory settings

if that's the case ..maybe you should enlighten capa that that is the case
