Thanks Shifty

Do you have your graph for boost vs power?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Heres an even better comparison Goose.

Shiftys car is stock. Stock exhaust, stock valve springs, stock everything, just a set of injectors, and edit running 10psi. It ran 12.9 @ 112mph with 269rwkw.

Now, what did your car run, and how many rwkw did it have?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Tuna, where the GM is coming from I think is in response to something I posted and was subsequently deleted last night. It is my understanding that with my mods ( APS 2) is that with an EDIT + custom tune I should be able to achieve the same /similar power but with slightly less boost given the control over a greater range of tuning parameters . Is this the case or not? Understand that there are a numerous variables but a good steer on this will answer a few peoples questions as there are more than a few pre modded Ts who wish to understand the upside V add on cost

Cheers

..........

$1000 to throw EMS in the bin

..........

As I not a drag racer I see no reason to change just for the sake of it.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

How can you blame anyone but yourselves for that..........

that's not a cost of Edit...that's a cost of...whatever you want to call it, but nothing to do with us. Sell it to someone with a Gemini, or a boat or something like that.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Hah!!! Street Tuner your reply is up to your usual standard.

It is a cost to me.

And where did I blame anyone for it. It is however a deciding factor as to whether I can justify the change.

But seeming as though you brought it up.

If you had of produced the Edit on time when you first anounced it arrival without all of the delays of 2 weeks then I would already have the Edit. So you do have some role to play in this. Should have released the product when you had the units in stock.

The fact still remains that if the Edit can produce more power with better torque running the same mods and boost, I would take that into account when making my decision.

Nothing data released so far indicates that this will be the case. As I said I'm 95% convinced to change over the other 5% is in your hands.

Show me the power benefits and I'll buy one tommorrow. :spoton:

Ok Macka

Go run you car down the 1/4 mile where we can get a real judge of your true power, not a dyno figure, and come back with a time slip. Then we will talk...

I don't need to prove anything. As a perspective customer it is up to you to prove your products superiority.

A simple Dyno Graph from a car with mods as close as possible to mine will do fine. ie CAI, larger injectors, larger intercooler, standard valve springs, standard cat running 10psi making 325+ rwkw and you've got a sale.

simple really

From what I've seen so far through dyno graphs from JB and Nizpro, is that the main benefit of the Edit currently is the extra power/torque between 2500-4000 revs (which is significant), so I wouldn't make an issue out of peak power & 1/4 mile times ... which most people on this forum seem to be obsessed with.

CAPA/ SCT in there wisdom have incorperated a method so us, the end user cannot deal directly with our ECU or Puter as they call it.. That it should be by way of the black box for 1294.. They have learnt off the LS1 boys that now the software is available not just cheap but free I\f you know the right people... That they have put a control between the car and the software called an edit..... 6 months from now the secret capa software will be available for free...... and the edit box is thier only chance at making money...... We need to by pass the box and get straight to the ECU like the LS1 boys are doing or we will forever be following there tailights......

We bought the car / We bought the ECU / Now a third party is trying to control the software for profit.. Microsoft boys hey.....

I know a speed boat tuner that has access to SCT / Ford software and he is developing an interfacing program that eliminates the CAPA black box..... Yes.. You plug a computer into your ECU and program your heart out...... LIVE......... More will be revealed
