Ford can only build so many per month and apparently the dealerships have a quota as well. So, although I've configured, ordered and paid a deposit on my car, Ford haven't committed to build it yet. The SIDO is given when Ford starts the production process. The last conversation I had with the Sales f*ck was that there were 3 of us (XR6 T buyers) who haven't yet got SIDOs from Ford, and that the Ford rep for this dealership was going on holidays for a week. Nothing more would be done until he returns from holidays.I'd like to send him on a holiday ...

He even suggested (quietly) that if I were to consider it, I would be much better off doing it after-market. He said that the Sun Roof alone takes 9 hours to fit and that they have a huge backlog. He also said that the after market Sun Roof could be covered by Ford warranty. The Sales bozo tried to tell me that it was the Leather that was holding things up. He just about swallowed this tongue when I told him that was bullsh*t and that I had been speaking directly with Ford about what the production hold-ups were! How do these guys sleep at night? XRCISM Member 126 Member For: 21y 9m 30d Location: Melbourne, VIC Posted 09/05/03 11:40 PM Share Posted 09/05/03 11:40 PM Ken - you should just go down there and demand some answers or tell them you will go elsewhere. When my partner ordered his Mustang, they fed him crap week after week. In the end he went down there and demanded to see the car or he was walking from the deal there and then. The car (which was supposed to be in Melbourne) was around the corner at a panel beater having a door realigned (or some bull$hit like that). They will feed you crap for as long as you will take it - just make it clear you ain't taking it any longer. Demand answers and make sure you get something out of this - we scored an FPV racing jacket, cap, great deals on paint protection and alarm - that kind of stuff. Also worth noting that after the truth was out and everyone was calm, they stopped feeding us bull$hit and made an effort to look after us. We did get our 2 XRT's and a Cougar (my sister) through this same dealer AFTER the tang experience. The deals and freebies got better as we went and the service from the salesman was very attentive. Just let them have it and see how they react - if they make a special effort to look after you now, they will probably do it again later. I know how you feel - it frustrated us no end to get the continual run around. Stay calm and go and get some answers!!!!!

Guest IMTRBO Guests Posted 10/05/03 03:51 AM Share Posted 10/05/03 03:51 AM On one other note I prolly agree with the aftermarket option for sun roof I am a XR6 TURBO fan and all but the finish on the car is nothing special example for those who have one look underneath your headlights there is almost a 5mil gap between the front bar and the head light so knowing that there is a mob in vic how do some great sunroof conversions with better options than the factory ones that is where my silver streak is going. GOOD LUCK KEN all the best I too am waiting for mine

How many others needed a deposit? I was told today that delivery is now pushed out to August, but that's still the same time as I waited Simon.... He almost sounded sincere as he explained to me that the reason he hadn't called me back (several times) was because he had nothing to tell me ... whatever! I think 1 month is way to long to wait til this thing even gets a SIDO.... anyho, he now tells me (with an air of pride in his voice) that he's got me a JULY build. No date yet, just July. I'm looking forward to our call tomorrow, when I question him about the exact date, the time it will take after that and the rumoured June price rise? When delivery day finally comes, I'm taking an oozie with me ... From what I've heard/read it seems a lot more than 2% of gen 111's have problems or "perception of problems" as one Expensive Daewoo PR guy stated. We're glad that you're enjoying this great Falcon. Good luck
