ok I wanna do sumthin to the back of my ute, (mandarin xr6).. today I debadged it and it came up pretty good. gives it a nice clean and neat look.

I was tinkering with the idea of black tint, I know its illegal and bla bla, but when done PROPERLY I reckon it looks a million bucks. so I got a mate to do a photoshop for me (before I removed badges he chopped them out too) and this is what the result will look like hopefully.

*NOTE, tones in well with the illegal tint :spoton:

*NOTE 2, Ignore my mates addition to my rear bumper :crybaby:

Personally don't like going the dark lights on lighter colours....

How about trying a tint close to your body colour, to blend them in more than make them stand out ??

Dark would look good on a Dark Blue/Green/Black....

tinting closer to my body color.. may aswell leave them how they are then! lol.

honestly does it look try-hard? I honestly think it looks good. better than chrome rice lights or clear lights. :w00t2:

I don't agree that tinting closer to your body colour would do nothing, the tint itself would cover the lights(If that's how the tints work on lights), and having no light from behind (unless they are turned on etc) should give an external appearance of the colour of the tint (I hope) to some extent.

Don't get me wrong, I think they look good in Black, just thought for a lighter colour, that a body coloured light would blend in more (To match with the de-badged appearance)

They look cool though, not 'ricey'

the best way to describe the color of the tint spray is "black smoke"

during the day with the lights off, depending on how thick u spray it, they SHOULD look very deep red, but with a thick black smoke, similar to road grime after rain on a white car.

if I go ahead with it ill use "Nightshades" spray, Autobarn $12. then spray over that with proper clears, cuz the nightshades sets like a matt color and looks crap. much prettier with a layer of clears over the top!

Tinted tail lights look cheap and nasty imo :w00t2:

if done PROPERLY with clearcoats over the top to achieve a high gloss shine, they look sh!t hot. not like those ricer VN commys u see getting around with one light darker than the other and a horrible matt black finish. :w00t2:
