Guest fredwho Guests Posted 11/03/05 09:56 PM Share Posted 11/03/05 09:56 PM (edited) Any decent tuner will charge the right money, and as much as we all like to jump up and down about the huge cost - at the end of the day, if the job's right, does it really matter?Know what I mean? For example, if Autotechnique is charging $700 for a custom tune and the result is simply awesome, whereas down the road it's $400 and the result is bordering on crap, then who's the bunny.Mario from Autotechnique is a mate of mine you see, which is why I am telling you this. The guy gets results. He's also the Australian distributor of VCM Suite - the 'new' replacement for LS1Edit, so he knows more than a thing or two about edit programs, and he has worked out the CAPA edit to within an inch of its life - so to speak. In other words, he is one of if not the best VCM Suite tuners in the country (he has to be to be able to represent his product properly), so I'd reckon people would be very happy with a $700 tune.Anyway, your point of whether he would be happy with $40 per car - he would be very happy with this. See, Mario is a progressive bloke who believes that dyno days aren't about making money (although it's nice covering your costs for the day), it's about showing people your facilities, maybe your acheivements, and in Mario's case, he would love to also do a demo with his own BAT ute.So the answer is yes, at $40 and a buck a snag and drink, she'll be apples. If you like, either I or Geea or whoever you choose can be a go between.I think it's time we Mexicans checked out Autotechnique to see what they're all about. I know alot of the Vic boys are keen for a dyno day as its been awhile. I believe it shouldn't be a problem. Once this is done start up a new thread with details of date and place and costs and start getting it organised. As long as its not on easter (easternats) or 9th April (ff.au Heathcote day) I'll be there. I'd look forward to it as there are alot of great "T" owners in Vic and it's always good to catch up.Geea. Guest Mario-Autotechnique Guests Posted 12/03/05 03:01 AM Share Posted 12/03/05 03:01 AM Hi everyone. This is my first post and I'm not really very good at this forum stuff, so please bear with me.My mate told me about this discussion and I felt I should come and talk to anyone who wants to participate in a dyno day.We would be very happy holding a day at the mentioend $40 and we would certainly put on a good day.Now I have also been told that I should run this by the moderators I think or something like that, to arrange this. Is this right? Please advise what is necessary for me to do and let's see if we can organise a day.Mario Pancione
