Are well guys, i'm going to take the plunge, i've been in contact with a CAPA fitter in Sydney and i'm in the process of organizing to have the 10-12 psi kit fitted to my XR6T soon i hope.

I'll keep you guys posted, i'm confident that the kit will work well.

Whats it going to set you back?

As for the engine....the size of the rods doesnt bother me the slightest. I am not aiming to rev the engine any harder than stock, and the power loading component is negligible. Remember, boosted engines, as a rule, are very kind to conrods. You seem to have a handle on the rest of it

This a very valid point here. Past differences aside.

Engine reliability form the conrod side of things should not be too much of an issue here, high reving engines destroy con rods.

The easiest way to gain power in say an NA application is to raise the RPM limit, of course the rest of the engine needs to compliment the raised limit. On the other hand, turbocharged applications tend too be much more forgiving on con rods. Unless there is a major design flaw in end cap design, where things can get very nasty.

PS. Variable rev liimit helps.

SupraTT is spot on. Just be nice to your gearboxes, they are going to need all the love they can get. Change the manual oil straight away, and investigate something like the cooler and pump system that CAPA are putting on mine. Soon as that oil gets to hot the bearings quickly suffer

BTW SupraTT, get rid of the TT bit, go to single T, and make it real fast!

The way I see it if my auto goes, I'll have it rebuit stronger. My auto transmission guy has already had a look at and said shift and other mods can be done, the next question would be for how much, I worry about that when it happens.

Hey Tuner, what's with the 10-12 psi, does it mean you can specify between 10 to 12 psi or is every car different and 12 psi may not be acheivable.
