It may be useful for Liontamer to inform us of his experiences thus far with this cooler he bought now it has been on the car for a while. His original review and the pictures looked promising.

I remember PMing him a while back and I can say that the price that was intimated in reply was even better than your discounted group rate (this was apparently from somewhere here in Brisbane). I have yet to confirm this with the details he gave me. The number I was given was 0755981499 and the name "Drew" - not even sure what place this comes from (looks like a Gold Coast number?).

Might get a chance tomorrow to check it out now that I am fairly keen to get one myself one that has limited pressure drop, works with the factory plumbing and is for the right price before going for a custom tune.

I also am interested in buying a direct fit replacement intercooler so I am in the process of making some enquiries.

I visited MOOD MOTORSPORT in Sydney who perform a lot of fabrication type work which includes intercoolers etc custom made. These guys are currently making an intercooler for the PAC PERFORMANCE XR6T project car which will be a direct fit as I was told by the owner, with a PWR core with custom made tanks.

I am currently awaiting a quote which will also include an oil cooler possibly attached to the bottom of the intercooler.

As soon as I recieve a price I will post some more details.

Peter

Hi guys,

I didn't think this warranted a new thread, but it's relavent to this one. Earlier today someone started a thread advertising direct bolt in intercoolers for a pretty reasonable price. Obviously they didn't go about it the right way, as the threads gone now, but it sounded like a good deal. Does anyone know of them or have any experience with them?

Cheers,

Steve.

I saw that briefly while I was at work Steve but didnt have time to have a close look. I know they were Adelaide based and their cooler was supposed to be :glad: hot. Nothing more than that.

Hi Luke,

I think I've tracked them down, I've sent them an email & if I'm on the right track I'll have a look when I'm in Adelaide next week. Looking at their web site, they mainly cater for ricers, but they make some nice looking parts. I'll keep you posted. If they are any good I'll grab one while I'm there.

Cheers,

Steve.

Ok Steve,

It would be good to know what results they have had with the T, if any.

Having a bit of a squiz around other forums, I noticed a brand new XR6T intercooler for sale on www.calaisturbo.net . Apparantly it's a nice 'mild' option for the VL turbo so if any of you guys who have upgraded and are looking to palm off your old cooler, maybe try advertising it over there. $100 is better than nothing if you don't plan on returning your car back to stock. Just a thought.
