Pressure will determin if you motor lives or dies, where the Temp is for when the oil will break down. I have Boost and Oil pressure, and after a serious run the pressure will drop below normal as the oil temp is higher, this is because the oil thins out the hotter it gets.I do not know about these gauges you are planning on getting, but if there are electronic, I say go for it. If you were on a curcuit at high rpm for long enough the oil pressure would remain acceptable even where the oil was superheated depending on the efficiency of the oil pump. If the temp rises dramatically you KNOW you are going to be losing pressure in any case BUT if pressure is low it is not necessarily telling you what the temp may be ie. you can have heat damage caused to components BEFORE the pressure indicates a problem. I used the Blitz BLM Racing Meters. These gauges can be ordered through your local Autobarn store.

Oil temp is more important. It has been describe by many a tuner that this could become a problem for the XRT. The likely hood of a lightly modded XRT (around 280rwkws) loosing oil pressure is pretty slim, however the oil temp going through the roof if your circuit racing is very likely...just my 2cDave. I have had my pressure drop below 500 kpa, this triggered the pressure gauge warning light, but the iddiot light did not light. The pressure was below acceptable, and would have caused damage if left long enough. If I was to get another gauge it would be oil temp

That way you can replace boost guage in your pod with oil pressure.Speak to Jeff, I think he's the CEO
