need some help I think the turbo is using a little to much oil it has now got 6500kms on the clock and is using as follows

0 - 2200kms = 2lts

2200 - 3500kms = 1lt

3500 - 5500kms = 2lts

5500 - 6500kms = .700ml

has any one else noticed this or is that the same as everyone else

Was at the dealer again today getting it toped up the replaced the pcv valve

and said it should continue to use oil to 10,000kms then it should slow down :spoton: any help would be good

thank in advance

My 03 T has 52k, and has not needed a single top-up between 7.5km oil changes. This also included a track day.

Take it up with the dealer. This consumption seems to be way too high - 5.7L. Maybe try another dealer.

Someone hasn't accidentally slipped an early LS1 into the engine bay by mistake have they?

58000 km on my T now and it stopped using oil at about the 2000km mark (probably about half a litre from 0 - 2000 km).

Suggest you get a new dealer.

Will let you know how I go.

BTW, I have 33,000kms and I'm loosing oil..

Yep, mine has not used a drop in the 8000km ive travelled.

I did my own oil change at 600km, then left it till the 3000km check and told the dealer to change it again. Then I changed at 6000km and the next will be 10,000 and then the 15,000km sevice is up. Had no problems with it so far, just pain in the bum having to by 10lts of oil all the time instead of 5. :crybaby:

I've just completed 1400 km in my mk2 6 speed and it has used 1 litre. I hope that trend doesn't continue. I don't know if the manuals may be more susceptible to oil usage and they would tend to rev a fair bit more than the autos.
