Guys, don't get me wrong. I don't pity these idiots on the street throwing rocks at the police. No way, give them everything they deserve. Like I have been saying, bean bag rounds are a very effective solution in this instance.

But my point is this, I do feel for the families who lost there children.

I have lost family members, my life long best mate and some of our best family friends. You don't wish this upon your worst enemy. But you can't say to the ones who died "serves you/them right". It doesn't.

The sad thing is that they obviously haven't learnt their lesson. These riots are proof of that. So again I say, for the way they get treated and the way the police are dealing with them, its their own fault. And I applaud the cops for their efforts, they are doing the right thing, even if they are being a little soft.

These people have no one to blame but themselves and the driver of this crash is a heartless coward. He will feel the pain, knowing he has killed his 2 best mates and that it was his own fault, for the rest of his life. I just hope they catch him and let him feel this pain in a confined space so he can't hurt anyone else.

What anoys me further is that there are families out there, who live in 'nicer' suburbs who live in houses worth less, with less rooms, fewer appliances and young children, and they are as happy as larry. Why? They are greatfull for what they have. They have earnt all they own. The people in these rioting streets have earnt nothing. Its houseing commission, its all handout based. Most of the income goes into drugs and alcohol, I've seen it. I'm sure many others have as well.

I just don't know what the answer is, nor do I see a change in attitude in the near future, and that's pretty sad.

The amusing ones are the "sh*tmen" (as they are aptly dubbed) getting on the TV and yelling sh*t like "every dog has its day" & "Youz won't know what hit you".

What these tools don't think far enough ahead about is next time they're in the cells, I AM GOD. They have one of us "dogs" deciding everything they can and can't do and preparing their food. This is relevant becasue 8 of the rioters have been remanded. Tee hee... Try throwing a petrol bomb or mouthing off now its not 150 police V 1000 citizens.

As far as two adults under criminal law dying in a car crash that was outrunning the police... Well.... I do not wish death on anyone, but these two idiots found it themselves. Don't let the door to hell hit you on the arse on the way in.

I deal with idiots like this all the time. The police station where I work is known throughout VicPol as harbouring many, many people like that, and the rumours are true. They live by law of the jungle. Its pathetic and so are they.

These ars#holes deserve what they get....stop messing around and give some power back to the cops so they can do their jobs and clean that mess up straight away. Hell I would be happy to volunteer and help them myself...play God? I have no problem with that.

These "kids" are gonna be the career crims of the future and there is nothing that can be done to stop them. Years ago, as a lad if you did something wrong and got caught by the cops, you would have to contend with a big burly cop who gave you a good "clip behind the ears" and put the fear of God in you, before taking you home to your parents who would do the same. You soon learned that type of behaviour isn't tolerated.

Returning to today - the whole dynamic is changed. Police have no power to do anything except stand there and take abuse from snotty nosed kids. If they take action the courts don't back them up - in fact they more than likely have action taken against them!! Its a disgrace.

I saw on the 7:30 Report last night where they spoke with a normal guy with a family who lives 1-2kms away from that sh#thole where the riots are happening. They showed him having to sleep with a loaded speargun beside him and a pick axe handle next to the front door. He has many locks on the doors and windows and is generally fearful for his family, because the police can't do anything to protect them. Apparently he and his family have been broken into on numerous occasions and had car vandished etc.... I think the time is fast approaching when people (like us) will need to get together and put some order back into society.

Someone above mentioned that you can't take extreme force to protect yourself from a home invasion....yeah he is right. Thanks to Mr Howard you can't buy a gun to protect yourself anymore...the only people with guns are the crims now and the Police who are too scared to use them for fear of the repercussions! Still, a speargun is not a bad option, I guess!

I know the US model for gun control(or lack thereof) is not ideal...but at least they have the right to bear arms against their attackers!!

Anyway...a final rant:

I have a mate or two who are coppers and old school - we often talk about these types of things and another problem that sporns this type of behaviour is indeed the Parents attitude to law and order. A lot of it stems from the modern police force and its dynamics. Case in point - Lets say that as a male copper your are partnered with a female (happens a lot these days) and you are called to resolve a domestic dispute in some feral suburb(usual Sat. night events). These situations are a coppers worst nightmare and can escalate very quickly....years ago, with two male cops they would tackle the issue head on and resolve in the knowledge that they can count on each other for back-up. The kids see that the Cops are in authority and command respect. I have no problem with chicks as D's or other types of coppers. But frontline troops should mostly be males imo.

Today - the coppers would rather wait until the situation cools down(the wife or kids get a thashing..or worse still someone is killed) before attending. Why? Well, for the guys out there, ask yourself a question. Would you have confidence in a female partner to back you up if confronted by a chemically induced bogan wealding a baseball bat ready to knock your block off? Me...I don't think so..doesn't matter how tuff they are.

I don't think the sex of the copper is relevant, there are a lot of short, puny, wimpy looking young male cops out there. Years ago, when you finished school, if you were over 6 foot, you had a good chance of joining the police, others did trades and other things. I got a couple of hidings off police as a young bloke when caught doing stupid things, and that was without giving them cheek.....you wouldn't dare. Plonky is right..... Justice Woods might have got rid of a few bad cops, but in the process, got rid of a lot of good ones.

Yeah im not one for the death penalty, only because the justice system is flawed. How many innocents will be killed is the question.

But having said that, I wouldn't mind the ploice planting sh*t loads of drugs in these losers houses and locking em up for awile.

Another reason this riot went on for so long is the whole philosophy used that is endemic within Police Management.

As a Risk management tool, instead of arresting lawbreakers AS they commit the crime, it has been decided there is less risk of physical injury to offenders (they are called customers in Police Mgt speak) and Police if they can be identified and summonsed AFTER the event.

This is why a Field Court Attendance Notice was introduced and a policy of ARREST as the LAST RESORT.

This is also designed to reduce the number of people in custody (limit the Duty of Care), allow for less Station/Charge Room staff, so Police can walk around the streets in propoganda pose (the Scarecrow effect - displaces crime from one place to another) and more multi skilling/less specialisation (jack of all trades, masters of none) so specialist squads (Full time Operational Support Group) are not formed to keep Police out doing General Duties.

The training that recruits receive is based upon social studies/social engineering and the philosphy that there is no need for physical strength/size and that 'understanding' why a pub brawl is occuring is more important in how to stop it and protect people from getting hurt.

As a matter of fact, in Sydney they have introduced these stupid flouro yellow caps that are worn by foot patrol Police so they can be seen by the public because a lot of Police are short and fat (especially the women)
