Seems like fairly good milage for such a soft tyre! How much were the SO3s and how do they rate against the SO2's?

Also, the tyres on the back of the enzo and most lamboghini's are fairly awesome for a road tyre as well.....

Love to know the price though.

Someone needs to make the following modification work, without hasles, without drivability concerns and without destroying anything.

Mild flare of the rear guards (2cm should do it, would probably look wicked as well)

Find someone to make up a new hub and some new, longer/stronger studs.

Either have the hub made up to have the face purtrude another 2cm or find a 2cm spacer.

Fit 305's/315's onto your car....

If this is possible, and if someone knows how to modify or strengthen some of the rear end components to cope with the tosional load, then you could have a feasable solution to finding a tenth or two off your 60ft time.

In total that's 60 - 80mm more surface area on the road, or 11 - 14% more grip....

Grip is directly proportional to the friction co efficient of the tyre multiplied by the contact area. I'm sure you would feel the difference.

Is this feasable?

I know spacers are considered the most evil thing for a road car, but if the strength is there, it just might be possible without annihilating anything....

I've used SO'2 and Michelin Pilot Sports on my BMW.  I know, not as heavy as a T but they work great.  I got 35K out of them, but didn't have the Kw's to play with that you have!

Good Luck!

Which of these tyres did you find the best as far as traction was concerned?

Another consideration is that for serious tyres there's not a lot of options available in 19", whereas 18" is far better.

Craig, maybe 3 sets of wheels:

1. for the shows 19"

2. for the street 18"

3. for the strip ... 17' slicks

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Just looked up on the bridgestone site and the SO3's come in the following sizes.

205/55R15 205/50R15 205/55R16 215/55R16 225/55R16 205/50R16 225/50R16 245/45R16 205/50R17 215/45R17 225/45R17 235/45R17 215/40R17 235/40R17 245/40R17 255/40R17 245/45R18 225/40R18 235/40R18 245/40R18 225/35R18 255/35R18 265/35R18 285/30R18 245/35R19 275/30R19 255/35R20 285/30R20

Not sure how much the 19's cost but I get my 18's for $330ea.

I was running 17's at the time. I thought the SO2 were the better of the 2, so I assume the SO3 is even better.
