I have been a half a dozen interstate trips between Melbourne-Adelaide-Sydney and never had any protection for it at all. It has stone chips on it, but nothing more than a standard bonnet would. I have a fibreglass bonnet and haven't had a single problem let alone had so called chunks taken out of it where the stone chips are.Brett<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Never had a bonnet, but had a full bodykit in fibreglass and stones ripped it to sh*t, 2 guys at work have lancers with fibreglass evo bonnets bit are f*cked from stone chunks and you can see paint fractures all around the chunks. By the way how long has your bonnet been there and what type of driving do you do??Dazza.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>that's why the person that makes it uses a special resin to prevent that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Mate, Any idea on pricing or time frame? Im keen to get one!! Bored again with my current look! Cheers Luke.

Posted 01/03/05 02:33 AM Share Posted 01/03/05 02:33 AM Ok.how heavy is an XR8 bonnet? If it is in the realm of say, 30kgs, imagine making one out of carbon fibre! (not fibre glass, cf is lighter).that's about 20kgs saving at the highest point over the engine.... That would have to help the center of gravity a tad, wouldn't it? Every kg counts imo.....
