Posted 25/02/05 05:01 PM Share Posted 25/02/05 05:01 PM I hope you haven't succumbed to the 'I own an xr6t and they be teh fastest car on the planet syndrome'??The earlier models came with a bigger turb - tdo5 I think.. and got down an boogied...They weren't bfyb champ and so damn popular because they be a slow car.. don't buy into the auto v manual arguement... My personal belief that rolling start, you would peg an auto..<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Bugger, I think I have succumbed to that syndrome. Geea.

He apparantly had no mods, I only got 250rwkw but If my car was stock I reckon it might have been a different story. Don't worry Dave, knowing these T's, he could beat you today, you could beat him tomorrow.Rob

The Autobox says "Hey, I need to change, but can only change at X Nm of torque"... The BA Computer drops the engine tune, timing etc to drop engine output below the X figure..Auto's might give you as slicker change, but by the time the engine de-tunes and then comes back up to full juice, I think the manual change can't be far behind..I spent a couple of years playing with the 4 speed electronic boxes... they are good, but not that good, not in a drivable configuration. The manuals have "Torque Tags" also.I've run a Ph2 manual ute here in Townsville. Him 250rwkw. Me 240rwkw.We were at the local drags participating in the making of a performance video. They wanted us to 'keep it even' on the launch, which meant me having to wait for him.. I let him set the pace, and I just stayed with him off the line. At the top end off the track, once we were both in 3rd, I was pulling on him easily.I've played with a few modded manuals up here, both on the track and street. Rolling start or otherwise, NONE of them have kept with me. Not one.Performance of the manuals is embarrasing. Back on topic, a stock T against a modded, even slightly, WRX? Forget it.Especially if you're in a manual :tosser: Shoulda left your muffler off

Stock boost, but with unichip, 3" and front mount intercooler its' not what you would call highly modified and the front mount is their for reliability and no boost increase.I'm sure BCL's rex would give quite a few of the 11 second T's talked about on this forum a run for their money. A stock rex and T have respectible performance and they both have good performance but they do it differently, and each to their own.Robbie. In a stock T, you're not going to trouble a well driven WRX.

However, it is possible to out drive the T...I know you'll never catch me dumping the clutch in our MY05 at 6000rpm, and I can garentee you not many other owners will either. But there are now quite a few guys like myself that are running 2.5L Sti motors in rexes. These are in a different league.Brian
