MaxPower Member 65 Member For: 20y 8m 6d Posted 24/02/05 09:54 AM Share Posted 24/02/05 09:54 AM the evo will always be a great car but IMO all cars loose there wow factor when so many people have one. Like everything in life. One of the reasons I like my car becuase to this day people still think my car is just a little "hairdressers lancer" that is untill I put my foot down, then there is a look of confusion! lolthat's what I love. But in getting back to the original topic, like everyone said these cars are two very different cars.- one is a large family car the other is a small family car.- one has 4WD the other is 2WD- one is a 2 litre four the other a 4 litre six- both have horrible gearbox's (power handling)- very different engine power delivery.I guess look at your lifestyle and driving habits and decide which car best suits your needs.A test drive after all this will definitly be the deciding factor. If I were you I'd test the EVO 8 as well can't go past that active yaw control.Oh and the gearbox is good for 9s proven.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>How true not many cars can run a 9sec Q on 100% standard driveline.Rob Barac from QLD has an EVO2 RS that does 9's (stock driveline, minimal suspension work.) blackwrx Member 181 Member For: 20y 2d Posted 25/02/05 09:33 AM Author Share Posted 25/02/05 09:33 AM I w3ent and had a talk to the local dealer today and was advised that the car did not have climate control or the colour screen, they did not have a XR6 turbo for me to test drive and tried to talk me into an ex demo FPV for $55000 or a second hand BA with a boss 260 for $38000 I think.I told him that I cant make a decision like that with out driving them and camparing the 3 cars, so I have to give them a call next week and then they should have an XR6T sedan tot test drive.I dont think the V8's are quite as good as the XR6T's from what I have heard.
