Well this being a Ford XR6 Turbo forum you will get a lot of biased quotes.

However, once this thread is filled out, check out this thread on the Rexnet forum:

Compare the two sets of reply's and decide for yourself :spoton:

Hi

I am looking at buying a new XR6 T

I currently own a wrx with a few mods like unichip, turbo, big exhaust, intercooler, CAI etc.

I would like to know how does the ford XR6 turbo go against the WRX's ?

Thanks

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Coming here and asking a question like that, brave man....

I guess your car would do a low 13 eh?? You probably have an STI turbo bolted on I assume????.

against a stocker XR6T, u will win.

against a stock car with an edit, line baller.

who knows.. stock v stock, very close I imagine.. untill you get to the corners and the big six does an impression of the ozzie cricket team and waggs it tail..

Go to the drags and ask one of the boys for a run, I'm sure they'd jump at the chance!! :spoton:

I think it comes down to power to weight ratio and the WRX would be a lot lighter than the XR so you would have to do a bit of work to keep up but it would be possible if youve got the $

I have been keeping an eye on the rexnet forum for a while and following that thread thanks.

My car is running a VF23 Turbo, 3 inch exhaust turbo back, APS CAI, Hyperflow TMIC, I have not had it down the strip as we dont have one near by. I have been told the car would be good for high 12's / Low 13's.

I am thinking I could either return my car back to stock and sell it or sell it as is privately.

The XR's look pretty good I think and I wouldnt mind doing a couple of mods to one, but I was unsure of the performance.

How much have the guys here spent on their XR6 Turbos?

blackwrx,

spending in the vicinity of 5-6 grand on a xr6t will have u about 280RWKW if u buy packs such as aps, or you could source the parts yourself and make your own exhaust and things for around 3-4grand for the same power levels.

I personally dont like helping corporations get larger, id rather source my own parts and save big $$$.

either way, for 5grand youd have a weapon that would kill any slightly modded rex in a drag.

I agree... but I recogn you can get the mods required for $3000 if your willing to source the parts and do a little bit of work yuorself :spoton:

I went from a wrx to my xr6t ute.... after I modded the ute a little, I can safely it will flog my old rex.... My old rex was standard though :msm:
