Went down to my dealer today (again) to ask whether they would transfer my phone kit across from my current car to the T when they get it from Ford ... no probs.

I also mentioned the fact that because I had the Premium sound (Ghia wiring loom) I'd like them to add two light bulbs under the passenger dash and near the fuse box for me.

After some convincing that this was possible, the service manager agreed to fix the bulbs for me (for free), prior to me taking delivery. Obviously, he wasn't aware this could be done, or he was just jerking me around. Either way, my T will have extra interior illumination when I pick it up.

... hope this doesn't add to much time to the wait

Apologies if this has been covered, but a few searches has revealed nothing. If it has please feel free to point me in the correct direction.

My old Fairmont (EL) had a footwell light in the rear seat as well as front (it was on the back of the centre console. There was just one centre light with a lens which pushed the light into both rear footwells.

Looking at the same position on the XR6T, there is a small removable panel there, just above the carpet. Has anyone investigated ? Could this be a possible light location ?

Anyone with a BA Ghia care to comment if they have a light there ?

Well, this aroused my curiousity! Got in the back of the T and found the little panel - poked and prodded a bit and it popped into the hole! Tried to get it out and it disappeared somewhere further forward under a plastic thingy and out of reach!

No bulb holders, wires or anything else to suggest a light fitting! sob!

Anyway, it was worth a try as the footwell lights are great. Have also done the boot lid liner and the chromed plastic moulding above the number plate (which I reckon looks great on the HgAg - but might look a bit OTT on the "brighter" colours).

Now, if only there was a cheap, easy way to add memory drvers seat, climate control and rear central armrest..........!

Regards

Have to confess that mine got pushed is as well, whoops ! Managed to get it back out though. Looks impossible to refit it from the outside though.

Will take a look at a fairmont when next at the dealer and see if there is a light to fit the hole. Certainly wouldn't be a problem to wire it forward to the front footwell lights surely.

Cheers,

Phil.

Already done mine, even put a blue cover on the bulb.

As you say, I just ran the power from the front footwell lights & got the lens & bulb holder from Ford spares.

Cost me about $30-40 bucks all up from memory.

Which model were the lens and bulb holder from? - guessing BA Fairmont Ghia.

Do you have the part numbers?

What sort of connection did you make to the footwell lights?

Any further info appreciated.

Thanks
