Well after hunting high and lo to no avail. Ford didn't sell seperately. Nothing on ebay, just lots of t10 globes. I picked some sockets up from the wreckers. $5 for the pair! More red to add to the baby!

What globes are people using? Multiple led globes, inverted or other suggestions? I need the most spread and light possible. LOL

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but I found it when I was poking around the centre console in my non Premo sound BF XR6. There is a light connected to the cig lighter. It takes a much smaller globe. I got a pair of blue LEDS from the Carribean market. There is also some different coloured ones that will suit the map reader lights, parkers or whatever has the same sized globes.

Sorry I can't take pics, I wrote my car off. LOL. Umm if you have pulled the centre console out before you will know what I mean. Anyway I'll try and describe it as best as I can. It is actually attached to the cig lighter loom. Low and behold a socket, and next to the cig lighter is a space for it. Let me know if I can help some more. I'll try and get pics, but I can't promise anything.

I know what your talking about, I ripped all that out when I installed my Xbox's IR receiver in that position. There was a socket for a very small wedge type globe if I recall correctly. There was most likely a globe installed for the smokers pack or something like that.

I can try find it if you want a picture, but Ive got a feeling I chopped that socket off at one stage as I used that line to illuminate my gauges - which I *think* I then changed to the traction control wire like most people have done.

I found the socket on the passanger side but no luck with the drivers side, it just started raining so I'll take another look later.

for anyone trying to fit these globes, I read that the sockets are only there if you have premium sound installed. also, for those looking for the socket for the drivers side, it's very well hidden on the bottom of the fuse box, if you take the fuse box cover off, you'll see the brown coloured socket above where the fuse box "fingers" clip in (the bottom part). make sense? also, this is my first post so hello everyone.

I got excited when I started reading this but when I went out to the ute (FG XR6 May 09 build) I found no wiring. Went and had a look at the old man's G6ET and found the wire and buld holder your talking about. Looking at the wiring harness it goes into id have to agree that with the premo sound (optional or standard) it comes in the wiring loom/harness.

If there is something else I can connect into please let me know.

If you want pics of both the XR6 and G6ET foot well and light let me know.

basically you want the outside bit of the original holder to touch the tip of the LED globe, and you want the tip of the original holder to touch the outside of the LED globe.

So a bit of soldering with a short little wire, and a bit of ingenuity and its possible.

Success! What a piss off to find that the polarity is backwards...we have done the other one by taking out the over the top metal bracket completely to get more room and a better solder connection.

Looks good along with the previously installed overhead light!
