My two lights rear (reading?) lights had to be modified for the LED globes to work.

The polarity was wrong as well, and it was fairly tricky to do. You can pull the whole light housing out of the car (theres a plug behind it), and I had to do a bit of fancy soldering to get it to work.

What did u have to solder I took it apart and wasn't to sure what would be the best way to do it

basically you want the outside bit of the original holder to touch the tip of the LED globe, and you want the tip of the original holder to touch the outside of the LED globe.

So a bit of soldering with a short little wire, and a bit of ingenuity and its possible.

What I did was just change the 2 wires round and left the earth where it is only problem the manual switch doesn't work but doesn't bother me as ts for show and I hardly have people in the back seat.

yeah that wont work, as there is like a 3-way kinda switch setup inside there. that's why you have to swap the internal bits over in the socket part of the thing.

I just did my 'upgrade' today! Got scared for a second, I looked under the passenger side to find no socket! Ended up hanging behind, must have fallen out at some time.

Anyway, thought people would like to know...

REPCO sell the BLUE 5w T-10 globes!!!!! I didn't get them, but they had them on their list :funnydance: Set me back a huge $1.20, only had my eftpos card on me too lol

I got excited when I first starting reading this topic!!!

And then discovered I needed premo sound for lights to be there! DOH  Only got the poor pack.

Has anyone got pics of the globe holder or know of the part number so that I can put some in myself!

Cheers

Darren
