some people say theres footwell lights on fairmonts, but the fairmont doesn't have premium sound. only the ghia does. the fairmont comes with the prestige sound. does anyone with a sedan with prestige sound have the sockets?

also, has anyone with standard sound fitted the sockets?

You just have to love this site and the ability to share important information such as "Where can I get a blue light?".

Got my blue bulbs in, thanks for the info.

Had an unmarked blue light following me for over 40klms on the freeway today from Mittagong to nearly Marulan. Didn't get to see his lights work though, regardless of how close to my back bumper he sat and pushed. Ended up just pulling over and letting him go and find a new victim. This is the sort of "law enforcement officer" that cause the rest of them to be treated with the disdain this clown deserves.

I just love my new lights though, wife thinks I should pay her as much attention as I pay the car. Wonder how hard it is to install a compartment light there, something like the glovebox light, comes on when you open it.

As Dave says... not in a ute. But obtaining the bayonet sockets won't be a prob - nor the globes. So just go ahead and wire it in. Each can be connected easily using the adjacent door switches.

Has any one added wiring for the footwell lights in a car without the factory sockets in place?

I had CCFL neons in my last car (a TJ Magna) and am wanting to transplant it to my new XR6. :D http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6534

Since neons require a steady 12V voltage, I expect I'll be able to remove the dome light fading by using a simple relay kit to sense for voltage on the dome light circuit.

Where's the easiest spot to tap the factory wiring for the dome lighting circuit?

This is a blast from the past. haven't seen this thread in years, back then you needed a prem sound setup and lights were not available in Utes.. Does anyone know if this is still the case and can we now get blue lights?
