I found the socket on the passanger side but no luck with the drivers side, it just started raining so I'll take another look later.

mine is the same do you have a factory alarm I think they have used the wiring for it (so it arms the doors)

I also have the factory alarm & cannot locate the socket on the driver's side. I think we'll need to run a wire from the passenger side circuit.

I've got the factory alarm and the footwell lights both sides. You might have to look a bit harder- the driver's side is tricky to access due to the bits of fuse box in the way.

It is difficult to see.

Easiest way is to remove the fuse cover, then look at the back of the fuse panel where the cover hinges connect, and you will see the socket. Very difficult to find with the cover on.

I think I found another light socket.

It would light up the area under the tissue box.

If you pull out the tissue box holder (the plastic with the power source in it)

Un plug the power from the power sourse, and you will see some cable taped to the power source cable.

That cable has what looks like a light bulb socket similar to the sockets in the footwells.

I think that's for the ciggie lighter Cro as mine has a glowing ring around it. ;)

I think it takes the smaller 2watt Wedge globes, I just went to supercheap but didn't have enough cash to buy them too.

Wonder if my Ultra poverty XF has this?Doesnt matter anyway...The leaking water from the Windscreen has most probably corroded the wires anyway..

What is this forums obsession with the blue light?Do all you guys has Nokia 8250s with little blue SMD Leds in the keypad or what?

I hate blue lights esp on cars mainly cos all the fools with BMW Xenon lights need to justify the $4000 option by blinding you at any chance they have :-( Though the Power Window switches somebody did were cool though,I ll give you that.

hehehe.... NOKIA 8210, it had green leds, but I got blue ones in at paddys markets for $25! lol Don't knock blue lights! We are like insects attracted to a bug zapper!

Has someone tried to stain the globes blue, remember when you were a kid and staining light bulbs was the in thing. Contact a stain glass shop and they could do it. The blue would round it off perfectly.

Can't you just buy blue bulbs?

I'm sure this was mentioned earlier in this thread ...
