Dal,

You would have got ripped off at that price (having said that depends on the options it had).

If you're in Melb, the best price you will get is from Freeway Ford down in Cranbourne. Trust me, I tried every dealer from Geelong to Frankston. Speak to D'nee and she will get you a great deal.

With my T, I got all the options below and on the road for about 2 large less than what you were quoted.

Oh yeah, and it was brand spanking new.

I havent had any Major Problems with mine.............

1) Overboost.............seems to be fixed after the reflash at the dealer.

2) Sharp edges on drivers side door handle/armrest where the clips hold the insert.

Dealer ordered a whole new assembly and refitted it.

Water leaking into the boot after washing the car or heavy rain..........its draining from the overflow holes in the bootlid when I open the boot. Dealer is going to seal the mounts around the rear wing to repair it.

Thast all..........8500km since November 04

A great deal on a fantastic car!

I do have to say that they offered me a pitifull amount for my trade in...........so I sold it privately for Twice the amount they offered.

Some of the other dealers tried to sell me a Mk1 Runout with no Accessories for a similar price!

Make sure you check what your lil Mazda is worth. Trade in prices are very depressing and im not to sure you will get the price you are asking. Check glasses guide or the red book and see howmuch it is worth and take a copy to the dealer as they weill tell you its worth much less.

My car has had too many problems to list. But I still love it and don't regret buying it. It has literally changed my life.

With the benefit of hind-sight, my advice for you is as follows:

- Shop around... go to as many dealers as you can and get them competing for your business.

- Try to sell your current car privately rather than trade in. You should get more money for it this way. If I could turn back the clock a couple of years, that's what I would have done, even if it meant having to use public transport for a month or so.

I am sure privately and I have looked it up on the red book 2003 Mazda Astina SP20 40,000 to 50,000KM trade in is 18100 to 21100 and privet sale is 21 to 24400 at the moment I have 27,000 on the clock she going 30,000 Service tomorrow $320 Mazda reckon I think that’s a rip off but any way!! this is a Ford forum  Will see but I am hoping for 22K for it end of the year but if I get 20K so far I have heard they are awesome for what they r and what you pay for!! And they are cheaper then a SS and 10 times better looking! go the fords!! :w00t2::msm:
