Then I decided decided to do a bit extra. The driver side rear window cutoff switch is illuminated blue when enabled, but if you switch the rear windows off, it changes to red I did this by fitting a SMD red led + series SMD 390 ohm dropper resistor across the cutoff switch contacts. I also put a SMD blue LED + 390 ohm resistor from the switched contact to the "new pin". I had to fit a 270 ohm ground shunt resistor to stop the rear window door switches from illuminating all the time. I added the SMD LED by scraping a small square (1mmx1mm) on the lacquer coated PCB pads, to give the SMD LEDs somewhere to "sit".It works like this, if the rear switches are enabled, the switch is closed, which means the red LED is shorted out, but 12V is applied to the switched contact, ie the blue LED is powered up (if the "new pin" is grounded, ie when the illumination is ON). Then if you open the switch contact, ie disable the rear windows, the 12V is applied to the red LED, and it is shunted to ground via the 270 ohm resistor. After that if I am successful I will be happy to helo any of you guys. I should also point out I am a qualified auto electrician.
