Does this problem only occur in the XRs? We've had a territory for about 4 months now and it has no trace of diff whine or is that just lucky?

It's the LSD on the T's and 8's - welcome to the club!

I'm getting my 3rd diff fitted soon(waiting for it to come). I havn't experienced a whining diff but its got me scared with this new one comming. I hope it doesn't start whining!!!

Could the whining possibly be related to the diff sh*tting itself under power? coz mines an NA so maybe that's why the 2 diffs havnt whined?

Why the new diff Bob?

I would suggest the whine has a lot to do with the extra torque of the T. I had this theory until recently that the kickdown of gears in the auto was causing it in mine – but I’ve babied the current diff and it hasn’t slowed the rate of deterioration whatsoever. So I have no idea, and just have to have faith that after long enough ford/dana will have their crap together and find a proper solution.

Trent.
