You would love it again....and I guarantee it will be MUCH faster than 101mph across the quarter when finished. Guest mercurysteve Guests Posted 24/02/05 09:44 PM Share Posted 24/02/05 09:44 PM My car coughs and splutters too, without stalling (and I hope it stays that way), I am waiting to do an EDIT as I have read a few times that it should fix the prob. But basically the reason I don't get an edit is because I can't really afford to at the moment.Strangely enough, this problem seems to be getting better all by itself. It's still happening, but the revs aren't varying as much and I think it's only stalled once in the last three days.I opened my mouth too soon. Started playing up again last night! The wire with the red plug on the throttle body had a loose connection. Fixed. C.S.I Member 651 Member For: 20y 4m Gender: Male Location: Gold Coast Posted 26/02/05 10:01 AM Share Posted 26/02/05 10:01 AM I've got a MkII which has never stalled (touches wood with hands and feet ).I have had 2 different flash proggies in her with no troubles, either with idle or overboost, including the latest 'Overboost Fix' flash. Why then do so many think its the PCM that's the problem, and not something physical??I know from this thread that Street Tuner keeps pushing the Edit, and bagging piggybacks, of which I have neither , yet and he's still not a Sponsor The Capa Edit from what I understand increases idle speed around 50 or 100 rpm, which may just MASK the mechanical/physical issues you are experiencing.I would be checking all the physical before I blamed the computer (PCM).My 2c Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/15810-help-me-solve-my-idling-problem/page/3/#findComment-224786 Share on other sites

Posted 26/02/05 10:37 AM Share Posted 26/02/05 10:37 AM Although this amy not fix them all I think some of the problems are the o2 sensor I was adived to replace this on ours and it has not stalled for a week it used to stall every day.As I say it may not be the fix to all cars. The advice come from a xr6t tuner up here in qld.Ian Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/15810-help-me-solve-my-idling-problem/page/3/#findComment-224790 Share on other sites
