Yes, I think falchoon needs some lovin' and a few tolerance lessons.

But anyway Scootre, although an expensive lesson, I hope that you now realise not to trust a dealer to look after your tyres. I would recommend to anyone to go to a real tyre place periodically to get a balance and alignment done. It'll be the best $70 you ever spend, not only for the immediate improvement in drivability but also in the potential savings in replacing tyres sooner than required.

Negative camber means the top of the wheel is angled towards the car. This means that when you corner hard, the wheel get's pushed towards vertical - making more of the tyre contact the road.

Hence, when driving in a straight line, negative camber wears the INSIDE of the tyre.

From factory, most XRs have somewhere between 0.25 - 1.0 degrees negative camber. Camber kits are usually purchased to achieve MORE not LESS camber. This would only exacerbate the wear on the inside of the tyres that you are seeing.

You must drive hella slow around corners ;)

I wear the inside of my tyres much faster than the outside.

My fronts wear pretty slow, but by the time my inside rears are on the tread wear indicator, the outside rear still has 5mm to go!

But hey, I get endless tyres with my car, so who am I to complain? Every 9000km I just grab a new set of rears!

You drive in a straight line more than turning corners. Unless you are reading about injector output on this forum in which case you go round and round in circles. :spoton::3gears: I put a camber kit on a VT I had for five years which was running 17's and it fixed the problem. Can only speak from my own personal experiences. VT's had a real problem with negative camber.

mmmm My 17" stocko SP3000s are wearing on the outer edge of the front, been aligned at least once....

Thinking it's about time I invested some time into suspension settings and mods....

'
