Guest Scootre Guests Posted 19/02/05 09:57 PM Share Posted 19/02/05 09:57 PM After 25,000ks, my SP9000's are scrubbed to hell on the toes, pretty much no tread left yet the centre of the tyre has at least 10,000 left on them.At 12,000 I asked the dealer for a rotate which was done. I told him the toes looked like they were wearing. He said the tyre wear was even and that my running pressures at 40 front, 38 rear was spot on. In fact it was the dealer who originally told me to run these pressures (which I would have anyway). I've been back twice since only to hear that 'tyre wear' was even. Now at 25,000 the dealer (obviously he gets around with a white cane) tells me tyre wear is even and it (still) doesn't need a wheel align.I took it to Beaurepaires yesterday, the wheel align machine gave me a spot on result. They told me the toes of the tyres were rooted and that tyre wear is anything but even. He said the tyres would otherwise have about 10k left in them but as they are, they wouldn't pass rego. Anyone else having this problem? What can I do?

I noticed other members showed empathy about your job loss and subseqent car sale, you could possibly learn from it when you lecture people ,when they loose their licences, or use capslock, have a nice day ! If you are suffering from excessive wear on the outside shoulder of the tyre then you might need to look at camber adjustments. You may need to adjust the camber to suite the way you drive. A good suspension shop would be your best bet for advice. I would have thought over inflation of the tyre would cause the centre to wear quickly. How does the inside of the tyre look? If you have -/+ camber, then that is where it will wear. Positive wear on the inside and negative wear on the outside. I have a set of 2 18's with 40% rubber on the outside and none on the inside. Goodyear EAGLE F1'S here I come...after a camber kit.
