Your number 1 problem is that the cop is going to stand up in court and say he was maintaining a steady speed of 140 km/h for several seconds, during which time he observed your car pulling away from him. Given his 'x' years in law enforcement, the rate at which said car was pulling way is indicative that the vehicle was being driven at a speed in excess of 150 km/h. Forget the radar, they are allowed to estimate speed in several ways provided they follow the correct procedure.

They will probably ask you how you KNOW you were travelling at 140 km/h maximum - were you watching the speedo the whole time? Isn't it possible that the speedo was above 150 km/h during the time you were watching your mate in the other car? Was your passenger watching the speedo the whole time? If you are really unlucky, they may throw in an extra charge to do with the street racing, which may mean a longer disqualification and another fine.

I wasnt pulling away from the cop car as they caught up to me very quickly if they were so sure I was pulling away from them and I was doing more than 150km/h why did they use ultimations and scare tactics to try to get a confesion out of me.Yes when I am driving I do watch my speedo and when I got to 140km/h I braked and slowed down my mate who was in the car also saw I was doing 140km/h.Well if they did video me the officers said"we are not charging you for street racing and not towing your car but we are issuing you with a fine and loss of licence "well that will be on video wont it.

If you want to race go to the track, that's what they are there for. Or if you just like driving fast, move to the NT, or Germany....

That sux, but unfortunately you were speeding, so I don't like your chances. Good luck anyway.

Im surprised I have not been caught so far.

I stick to the speed limits most of the time but get the occasional blood rush and give the car a boot full. (Like Im sure most of us do so dont flame me if you have done it to) I know I shouldnt but cant help myself.

I dont mean to but Ford shouldnt bring out great cars like these. In a few years time when the "Fun Police"get there way things might change and we will be driving around in water powered cars capable of 40 kmh :spoton: .

Good luck :crybaby:

No sympathy from me, you were street racing and you were busted. Do the crime, now do the time. Hope they pinged your mate as well.

What are u a priest. Street racing??? Pfff you should sell your Xr and buy a sigma. It was probably on a long stretch of highway and he wouldn't have been endangering anyone. Your attitude worries me, cause its the way all the sheep in this country think, believe every peice of bullsh!t u hear on the news and read in the paper!! Its all hysteria just like the fear of terrorism. God this is why morons like braks and scuby get their own way all the time.

My advice with a attitude like urs, go to a mechanic removr your turbo cause u definatly dont need one.
