a security card like a credit card or something would be cool. put the card in and press the button to start the car, to stop the car just pull the card out.

I think the S series mercs have a proximity card that you keep in your wallet, and when you walk up to the car, it recognises it and unlocks the doors. Then all you need to do is get in and hit the start button. You basically don't have to do anything except have the card in your pocket!!

Now that's cool!

What amuses me is the motoring journos that give it a hard time never say anything about the starter button on the Aston Martin...................or other European cars that have starter buttons for that matter.

IMO they are gimicy tacky and pointless.

They belong on sports cars with the technology such as mercedes has. For example the SL 55 AMG and SL 600 have a sensor to sense you are in the car with the keys this then allows the car to be started with the starter button only.

I cant think of anything more stupid then the FPV startor button. Why on earth would you want to place keys in ignition turn to on position then press startor button.:spoton:

I wonder if it's possible to disable it and just go through the normal method of starting.

Would have to leave the button on the dash so you don't have a hole in it though..

Its part of the package that Fpv are providing to make it a little bit different than the rest, its a bit like saying whats the point of having a side skirt on a XR compared to an XT does that make it gimiky tacky and pointless
