With the rolling code immobilizer and locking system driven by a remote control dongle, perhaps the question is whether we need a key, as opposed to whether we need a starter button?

it would be cool if there was a pin code to punch in then press a button

I've been in a WRX with a system like this and it really gives you the :pooh: especially if you're in and out of the car often. :gooff: Rather have the starter button than not, but agree it is pretty useless. I guess it just sets the FPV cars apart a bit from the XR's.

They are a pain in the arse when you have the car valet parked....

If I had a dollar for evey time I have had to go down into the valet parking area to retreive my car after some pimply faced riceboy in a monkey suit has wasted 20 minutes trying to start the car and has decided it is stuffed.........

Even when you

A: ask them have you driven a GT before (of course they have, lots of them, they are rooooooooly good drivers .

B: tell them there is a starter button on the dash to the left of the steering wheel,

They STILL *beep* it up....

ahhhh feel lots better now

:pooh: Flappist tell me it isn't so you let these goons actually park your pride and joy? I have often parked my own car even when the valet service has been available. Am I being a little paranoid? :spoton:

Not at all paranoid.

I mean think of it like this. If you were a young guy and been handed the keys to a gt or something of that hardcore status would u not be tempted in hearing the motor growl and tyres squeel.

I know I would
