I have been opening the bonnet of my T every weekend for the last few weeks, only to find that the overflow bottle is empty. Only thing is I have never seen a puddle under the car. :gooff:

Could this be that I have a blown head gasket? Or even worse a cracked water jacket? :spoton:

Could someone please help?

Thanks

Chris

If its an auto, check your automatic oil.

Over time we have had cars in our workshop where the auto cooler inside the radiator has split, so when the car is hot and stopped, the build up of pressure forces the water into the automatic fluid line then into the box.

Just something to check.

Not always. It may only leak under high pressure - ie when you are accelerating. By the time you get back and park there may be little or nothing to drip.

I had the same situation. A couple of drops on the car park spot but that's all. Otherwise no signs.

And that's not something you would wish on your worst enemy – there was someone here in Brissie a while back that had this exact thing happen (along with a few other around the country as well) but the proceeding sh1tfight of trannie repairs was nothing short of disastrous.

Whatever it is I would be waiting on the dealer’s doorstep for open of trade on Monday morning.

Trent.
